Letting go is a required part of my job as an educator and mentor. But just because it is required of me year after year does not mean it is easy. Damn, I’m proud of these humans. And damn is the letting go tough this year.

These two directing seniors swept the Region 3 Directing Awards at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. So well deserved and very hard earned. This is how an artist - and an extraordinarily famous artist at that - should act. Hugh Jackman is so remarkably humble, kind, gracious and generous, and treats every human he meets as a vessel for connection and growth. He inspired our students while meeting them where they are. Incredible man, incredible week.
