Life in Anjou, in the Loire Valley, is one of our greatest sources of inspiration. If you have followed us for a while, you know how much this region (where we split our time) means to us. There is a certain softness to life in this part of France, in the light, in the landscapes, in the stone and in the pace of everyday living. We call it the slow life, but itâs actually known as âla douceur angevine,â alluding to the quiet tranquility that is a signature of this region.
From village streets to local materials to breathtaking landscapes, this part of France constantly reminds us that the most meaningful spaces are the ones rooted in place. This is a glimpse of Anjou through our eyes, and through the lens of our design studio.
Follow along for more French life, architecture, and design inspiration.

A compact bathroom, under 50 square feet, transformed into a serene sanctuary through healthy materials and a highly considered material palette.
The brief was simple but precise: maximize the space, preserve visual calm, and create a room that feels open, restorative, and beautifully refined.
This project is a reminder that small spaces can still make a powerful statement when every detail is considered.

Celebrating a meaningful press moment!
Weâre honored to be featured in Livingetcâs latest piece, âHow to Buy Furniture Thatâs Truly Timeless, and Avoid the âFast Interiorsâ Trap,â with Marc sharing his perspective on what it really means to design with longevity in mind.
A big thank you to @laurennicoley6 for spotlighting a topic we care deeply about. At MAREDI Design, avoiding âfast interiorsâ isnât a trend, itâs a core principle. We believe in creating spaces that are intentional, enduring, and grounded in quality materials and thoughtful sourcing.
This article captures a key part of our manifesto: designing beyond the moment, and investing in pieces that evolve with you over time.
If youâre rethinking how you furnish your home, this is a conversation worth having.

In our latest episode of @thegreenroutepodcast , one topic that we dive into is whatâs often hidden behind the walls: insulation and its impact on our health.
Our guest, architect Taleen Josefsson @the_holistic_architect , breaks down the realities of toxic materials, from common insulation choices to the long-term effects on indoor air quality, and what better alternatives look like in practice.
Because what we donât see in our homes can still affect how we feel every day.
Episode 24 is out now â listen to the full conversation for a deeper look.

Earth Day is the perfect moment to share a milestone for MAREDI Design: weâve officially added a new certification in biophilic design through the Living Future Institute.
Biophilic design is much more than bringing a plant indoors. It is about supporting the human need to connect with nature through the way we design spaces. That can mean natural light, organic materials, nature-inspired patterns, tactile textures, living elements, and forms that echo the landscape around us.
In other words, biophilic design is not a trend. It is a design approach rooted in wellbeing, connection, and a deeper relationship to the natural world.
