Round 1 - Race Report
Quali - 🏁P11. After finally getting in to the 43s it still was no where near where we should be or have been and it was a disappointing P11.
Heat - 🏁P13. The start was not good as I tried to pull of the start and the kart decided not to respond so we dropped a few positions but not even a lap later we managed to get one back. After that we were in a little train and as I decided to go for a move I tried one up the inside into the hairpin and the engine decided to completely shut off which dropped us about a second behind with too little left to go to gain it back so we finished in P13.
Pre Final - 🏁P14. Starting a bit further back for the Pre we managed to gain two positions in the first lap and then a few laps later another two. As the race went on we were stuck behind two drivers but then the driver infront spun on their own which gifted us a free position however we did unfortunately end up loosing that position on the last lap. As we came off we thought it was P10 ,but no with being given a 4 place penalty for ‘tap and take’ which we were not happy about as in our eyes something like that never happened so in the end it was P14.
Final - 🏁P12. Starting P11 for the final again it was quite a boring race as nothing happened until the last couple of laps when we got overtaken and we dropped to P12.
Champ - 🏆P10. After a disappointing first round at GYG we do really only have ourselves to blame as my driving probably needed improving. Also we struggled with carb issues which gave us a lack of pull out of corners throughout the whole weekend. We will bounce back at Rye House for round two though looking to improve massively on the results as by the end we are P10 in champs
