My poem, ‘The Painting Opposite Pollock’s’, was shortlisted for the @thawramag poetry competition! :)
The poem focuses on a history of police brutality and racial injustice. Through this, I wanted to call into question the relationship between resistive art, artist, and viewers - further highlighting the structures of power that undergird the romanticisation of violence
