Barn & Belle is an Americana duo with a great love for close harmony and vintage instrumentation. With remarkable ease, they blend styles such as bluegrass, ragtime, swing, folk, country, and blues into new songs that differ from one another, yet always remain unmistakably Barn & Belle thanks to the strong chemistry between the two multi-instrumentalists.
Armed with an acoustic guitar, dobro, washboard, their ‘traveller’s drum kit,’ and two-part harmonies, the duo musically harks back to the 1930s and 40s, while telling stories rooted entirely in the present. Barn & Belle have previously shared the stage with artists such as Pokey Lafarge, Seasick Steve, Hezekiah Procter, and Rob Heron & The Teapad Orchestra.
On October 2, 2022, Barn & Belle won the final of the Dutch Blues Challenge. This allowed them to represent The Netherlands at the International Blues Challenge 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee, where they performed among more than 200 international acts. After two successful quarterfinal performances, they reached the semifinals.
Subsequently, the duo toured the southern states of the United States for a month and a half, where they performed regularly.
Shortly after their return to The Netherlands, their second EP, 'The Dead Don’t Dance', was released in March 2023. The six songs on this record tell the story of a period of burnout the duo went through a year earlier.
In 2023 and 2024, Barn & Belle played more than fifty gigs a year throughout The Netherlands. In the autumn of 2025, they appeared on national television in the program Holland’s Got Talent.
In that same year, the duo went back into the studio, both in The Netherlands and in Nashville, to record new music. These recordings are scheduled for release later in 2026.
