This is the trailer for Ninety One, which was such a special film for me to be part of. As someone who struggled with mental health challenges as a kid (and beyond), the opportunity to work with ski mountaineer @extreme_ryan_delena —an unstoppable force who faced incredible obstacles from a young age and worked relentlessly to overcome them—was deeply inspiring. I believe that every filmmaking experience broadens and deepens us in some way, and my time with Ryan, his dad @robert.delena , his mom @marybethdelena , and sister @a_delena was especially transformative for me. Two years ago, I filmed with @drake.maye at University of North Carolina for his Pro Day and told his story for Amazon’s “It’s In The Game: Madden NFL” series. Drake was respectful and thoughtful throughout the shoot. It’s been great to watch his growth since then, and to see him now leading the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl! Our film “Parting the Waters” just won Best Documentary Feature at Rhode Island International Film Festival @flickers.riiff — a huge honor. I’m so grateful to have co-directed, shot, and edited alongside @michelekupfer and @themarcs_salomon , with the producing brilliance of @akasefilms . Big shout out to @thisisbrentclark for his aerial and gimbal work. This project taught me so much about collaboration, self-belief, and perseverance. A few months ago, I reached out to one of my favorite artists @jeffreymartinmusic and asked if we could follow him and his tour partner @willyteataylor around as he made his way through North Carolina. He said yes, which was a big surprise to me. The result is “Finding The Heart,” a 17 minute slice-of-life documentary about two great artists that I’m really stoked about. Here’s a little trailer. A thoughtful writeup from @voguemagazine for @sharonvanhalen music video, "Porta" - ‘Van Etten’s take on toning peels back the layers of simply sweating and taps into the deeper connection of mind and body, taking the viewer on an emotional marathon...Yet, the draw-you-in factor in the “Porta” music video is that Van Etten shows her real, stripped-down self. I've always been deeply stirred by the music of @sharonvanhalen and it's something that I turn to when I want to find a passage into some part of my past or a greater understanding of self or the world around me. So when @lmr_content and @supercolliderco invited me to collaborate with them on Sharon’s new music video, I knew I had to do it.
