When you Color Graded the Vice Ganda šŸ”„šŸ”„ @praybeytbenjamin Another one of my favorite projects as a #Colorist from 2023 that I’d like to share with everyone One tip when adding glow to your clips is that you should not overdo it. Recently lots of people are using glow because it really is a cool effect but remember to just use the amount needed that you think is best and ask yourself if it’s too much A short #colorgrading reminder 🤟 #davinciresolve

April 11th, one month ago, I proposed to her 🧔 We’ve been together for 8 years and it’s been an awesome journey filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. We are so grateful for the love and support of our family and friends, who have been with us through ups and downs. We’re excited to officially announce our engagement to everyone and share this special video of our travel in San Juan, La Union where she said yes. Chammy, thank you for everything. Without you, I won’t be who I am and where I am today. I can’t wait to spend my whole lifetime with you. To more adventures together soon!! Color graded frames from a documentary I worked on last year wala munang breakdown for now most people color grade nature by finding a lut that looks cinematic tapos pasa na kay client, di dapat ganun. the problem is the footage already has a look. overcast light has its own softness. window light has its own direction. a lut that looks cool on a sunset doesnt know what to do with an overcast field in the middle of nowhere. grading nature means reading what the light is already doing and following it. the goal isnt to make it look graded just for the sake of color grading. follow and feel what your ā€˜eye’ sees when you look at nature and use that as inspiration that’s the difference between a look and a grade. if your project needs that kind of treatment, my dms are open 🤘 A project from 2025 #Part6

#Colorist for Don’t Go Music Video One thing about color grading is that it’s not always about adding in more color. A big part of color grading is subtraction. Pulling things back, dialing stuff down. Balancing what deserves the viewers’ attention. Not everything needs to pop. If everything is popping, the image can look messy. #Colorist for Isuzu! A project from 2025 part 2 This is my first color grading work for a Car brand. Well actually its a second one but I wasn’t paid by the other car brand so I’m not considering that haha but anyways this is also my first time using the bleach bypass technique for an ad. People usually see bleach bypass in movies: war or action genre. But then when I saw the color grading inspiration being bleach bypass, I couldn’t wait but to color grade it asap. The key in nailing the look is to make sure the contrast levels are in the right place. I used the bleach bypass slider in the film look creator but that wasn’t enough. To actually hit the spot of my desired bleach bypass look, I needed to adjust the contrast in the hdr wheel section and adjust the saturation so I can control it to exactly where I want it. The tip is to not rely only on one slider, know what each tool is doing inside Resolve so you can get the most out of your footage. If you know someone who needs a colorist, you can reco me 🤘 salamat!

#Colorist for Gateway 2! A project from 2025 part 1 As someone who went to Gateway 2 before and now color grading a project for them is so cool to me. Regraded this project a little bit as I’m exploring more styles/techniques for the new year to enhance my current skills. Added a little bit more contrast in the right areas while making sure its not too contrasty overall which is a common mistake of beginners when color grading. Using masks or power windows helps you achieve that kind of results. You can use curves and contrast sliders in primaries and hdr wheels when adjusting contrast, each of them has their own different take on adjusting contrast so use wisely 🤘

2025 was a full year — in ways that don’t always show up online. I got married, worked on projects I’m proud of, taught filmmakers, helped build a community, and spent more time offline than usual. Somewhere along the way, I realized things might’ve gotten a little blurry from the outside.
jspk: Filmmakers’ Meetup is a passion project.
Color grading is still what sustains me as a filmmaker. I do a lot of things — and I’m okay with that. That’s how I’m wired. Grateful for the work, the people, and the growth.
Here’s to making my younger self a little prouder in 2026.
