Home is where love is
I’m very happy to share Collages, my latest collection, now on view at Nila House in Jaipur until April 12th, 2025.
This body of work is the result of my three-month residency with the Villa Swagatam program, supported by the French Institute in India. @ifiofficiel @nilajaipur Collages is a deeply personal collection that brings together two of my lifelong passions: the history of my nomadic family and the richness of craft.
It is a series of sculptural objects that explore the symbolic and poetic dimensions of the home. In the early 20th century, my Armenian family exiled from Isfahan to Calcutta on donkeys, carrying only a few belongings—textiles, small ceramics, and their ancestral craft knowledge. I grew up listening to my grandmother’s stories about this legacy.
To me, objects are powerful storytellers. They anchor us in our memories and connect us to one another. I believe Collages is the opening chapter of a new visual book I intend to write. Throughout this journey, I had the chance to collaborate closely with the artisans of Nila House, whose mastery and sensitivity brought each piece to life. Their knowledge, patience, and deep connection to materiality have shaped Collages in the most meaningful way. - People’s Awareness Network Society - Manish Verma from Nila Team - Babulal Rameshchand Handicraft - Good Luck Entreprise - Amor Design & Production - The Nila House team 💙 Pictures by @aizrii

Au plaisir de vous y retrouver et d’avoir les mains bleues ensemble 🫂 On December 6 & 7, I’ll have the pleasure of co-leading an indigo dyeing and patchwork workshop with Manish Verma during the festival Ce qui se trame. Histoires tissées entre l’Inde et la France. At the Mobilier National, we’ll experiment together to create collective patchworks 💙 These pieces echo the Suspended Textile Collage I developed during my residency at Nila House, in collaboration with the women of the People’s Awareness Network Society. During the final exhibition of my work, this patchwork became the threshold to the patio where the objects were displayed. Like a symbolic gate where my visual archives came alive, blending Persian hanging flowers, Armenian stone patterns, and Indian ornamentation. All workshops (there are many others!) are free, but spots are limited 🙏🏽 from 3 to 6PM Looking forward to seeing you there and getting our hands blue together 🫂 @ifiofficiel @if_officiel @mobiliernational @nilajaipur Photos @aizrii @lubeylu

Collages Collages is a curated collection of sculptural objects that reimagines the home as a space of poetry, memory, and meaning. Each piece tells a story—rooted in personal heritage, collective rituals, and the tactile beauty of handmade forms. The house becomes a living theatre of emotions, where the familiar is infused with symbolic depth and ancestral echoes. Designed and produced in and around Jaipur, the collection is the result of close collaborations with local artisans, blending traditional craft techniques with contemporary narratives. From woven dividers to totemic lamps and textile thresholds, each object becomes a dialogue between material and memory, evoking Indo-Persian, Armenian, and nomadic aesthetics. Collages is on view at Nila House, Jaipur, until April 12th. A huge and heartfelt thank you to the Nila House team for their generous support these past months—for welcoming me into their incredible world and sharing so much precious knowledge. 💙🤍💙 And to the French Institute in India, for the best team and the best adventures. 🤍🫂💙 @nilajaipur @ifiofficiel @amandine.roggeman Pictures by @aizrii
