I couldn’t leave Coral Bay without getting a tiger shark tattoo 🥰 Adapted from a photo I took onboard @ningaloomarineinteractions , little trevally and all. I love it so much, thank you @caitlinjfox , you did an amazing job!

I think I’ve already taken my most favourite manta photo and I’ve only been here a week 😍 This was in the manta madness we had with around 15 mantas chain feeding back and forth around us. This beautiful boy just had the most amazing colouration 🙌 📷 @sonyalpha @seafrogs.com.hk 📍 @intercontinental_maldives 🤿 @maldivianmantaproject

🦈 New scientific paper published!! 🦈 I have FINALLY published my first first-author paper from my honours thesis! This research looked at varying shark denticles (scale like structures on the surface of their skin) morphology and how it can be used to identify species from sediment samples. The full paper can be accessed through the link in my bio. A huge huge thank you to my supervisors Dr. Vincent Raoult and A/Prof. Troy Gaston for their support and guidance through the initial study and for all of their help and amazing effort to get this ready for publication. As well to Matt Broadhurst for supplying the shark heads for sampling and the huge effort he put into the manuscript. Special thanks to Rob Townsend from @sealifesydneyaquarium for supplying the sediment that was imperative to this study. Of course a huge shoutout to my fellow honours buddies and all of the volunteers that came on the boat with me and especially @kristen_mcspadden who helped me sift through trillions of sand grains in search of denticles until we went mad 😅 #marinescience #womeninoceanscience #scientificpaper #sharkscience #uninewcastle #sharkskin #marinebiology

We survived the literal pits of hell that is the Singapore shipyard, but there’s no other people I’d rather burn in hell with ❤️‍🔥

Little pit stop back home in SA 🥰 Visiting the fam, going to my fave beaches, and a little trip down to Yorkes, then crossing the Nullarbor for the third time (and taking a photo with every sign along the way) before heading to my new home in WA 🩵 This is probably going to make me sound like a foster puppy, but I am so ready to find my forever home. Somewhere I want to stay for longer than five minutes before I get bored. Somewhere I can not only build a community but actually be involved and apart of it in a way I haven’t been able to do whilst constantly on the move. I’ve spent the last five years in my van travelling all across Australia and back again, and pretty much ever since I left WA I have been itching to get back. So I’m hoping that this is where I can stay 🥹 #southaus #southaustralianbeaches #yorkepeninsula #fleurieupeninsula #nullarbor

Better late than never but some pics from PNG, mostly pre-grounding 😅 Weird to think that I am still meant to be at sea right now and in Vanuatu, but shit happens 🤷‍♀️ Stoked that I got to experience the beautiful land and people of PNG, even just for one trip. Also spending the holidays at sea ain’t so bad when you get to spend it with such a good crew 🥰

So grateful to have these girlies in my life and I’m really sad that leaving Cairns means leaving them 😭 but they have been an absolute godsend and I love them so much! 💜💜💜
