Electro ⚡️ Etching the @mapc2024 conference collaborative member plates 💚 from the @kstateart@currentprints research fair. These (2) 24x18 plates were first coated with the nontoxic dc ground and then drawn on by the 500+ members who attended the conference @kstateartsci ✍️ Etching them brings back so many great memories of the awesome people who attended and contributed to make this event so special. A great way to end a busy Fall semester. Thank you all 🤟😍!!! 🌹🪻🌸🌻🌺🌼💐🌷
Still thinking about the great exhibitions, artist talks and demos from the MAPC conference at Kansas State University. @jscuilla and the @mapc2024 team did such a great job with the programming and hosting 💫
@jbuckmanart Jess was such an important @mapc2024 conference team member 🤜🤛 . She handled budget/accounting, shipping/receiving inventory, and populated/organized all of the registration spreadsheets 🧾. This was a huge undertaking, making sure everyone’s lunches, T-shirts, exchange portfolios, open portfolios, and add-ons were correct ✅ . During the conference Jess lead the registration table and team, and her and her awesome husband Jake were running around sun up ☀️ to sun down 🌙 making sure things were running smoothly. 🌹🪻🌷🥀🪷🌼🌷🌻🌷🌺
Can’t believe it has been a week after @mapc2024 at KSU!
It was a pleasure organizing this themed portfolio exchange “Resurrected beauty” with my friends Brian @artbymendez and Maxine @maxineleu . Thanks to the amazing participating artists, the portfolio finally made it to Willard Hall during the conference! The print exchange invited artists to rethink what the limitations for materials leftover from our daily consumption can do when used in printmaking.
And here, I would love to share some insights on the recycling process when we are creating prints.

Thank you to @kstatemfaart Alumni @inglebenjamin for being a part of the @mapc2024 conference team. Ben got to @kstateart early to help with all of the room setup & press installations, and helped with several demonstrations. Ben teaches at @santafecollege in Gainesville Florida 🌹🪻🌸🌺🌻🌷🌼💐🌻🌷
Kstate MFA Printmaking alumni @kyralitwin (left) was part of the @mapc2024 conference leadership team 💪. Kyra ran the Social Media accounts 📣 for @mapc2024 Instagram and Facebook. She did an amazing job spreading the word and promoting the conference to @midamericaprint members and the overall printmaking community ❤️. Kyra is now an instructor of drawing and foundations at @iowastateu 🌹🌷💐🌻🌺🥀🌻🌼🪷🪻
This is what happens to all of those @mapc2024 conference signs when you have two kids crazy about printmaking 😂. First thing Monday morning they asked if we could do another conference next weekend 🔥🌻🖤 😅
The Current Prints Electrolytic Research Fair at @mapc2024 was such a HUGE SUCCESS! ⚡️Thank you⚡️ to everyone who stopped by to learn about the amazing research that has been going on at K-State led by @jscuilla and the @prairie_fire_printmakers 💙
The response to the research fair was more than I could have imagined - so many people expressed such interest in and excitement about electrolytic etching, our non-toxic hard ground, and using biodiesel as a safe an environmentally friendly solvent! It was a joy answering questions all weekend. Plus, I think we truly helped open people's eyes about what can be achieved with safer printmaking processes. 💙
The biggest THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who helped plan, set up, and take down the research fair as well as the alumni who took the time to share their experience and knowledge with MAPC attendees. The success of the fair relied on all of you caring and putting in the effort!
Also thank you @joreigeluth and @kjbprinter for providing many of the prints featured on our huge collab "studio" wall! I am so grateful that you could see the vision and really went for it!

Thank you to Associate Professor Art Librarian Dan Ireton who created the @mapc2024 Inkcredible Art Odyssey Scavenger Hunt 🙏🙏🙏. We had 15 people solve the puzzle which translated from Greek to “King Fork”. Here’s Dan hanging out by the answer, the Monumental Fork Sculpture in front of King Hall 😎📖 🔥. Thank you to my friend Dan & @kstatelibraries , everyone who participated, the 15 printmakers who solved the puzzle, and the 5 raffle winners who each won $100 gift cards courtesy of @blickartmaterials 🌹🪻🌷🌺🪻🌻🌼🪻
Had a great time chairing and presenting in the panel
