A full house at Kress on Dexter for ReCON$truXion—people showing up, listening, questioning, and working through how the story of Reconstruction is shaped and carried forward.

Since 2018, our partnership with Alabama Shakespeare Festival has expanded how stories are explored — not just in performance, but in how they’re experienced, discussed, and carried into the community.

A new way to move through Montgomery!
The Montgomery Street Market Trail connects vendors and spaces along Montgomery Street, bringing more people into the areas where so much is already happening.
Some of our murals and spaces sit along that stretch—so keep an eye out!

The Kress Community Room was full for the Durr Lecture.
Renowned Classical Guitarist Damian Goggans, alongside students from Baldwin Middle School, brought together artists, students, and community in the same space — one of those moments that feels simple, but actually says a lot.
This is what the room is for.

Letting something happen that wouldn’t have otherwise.

Last week in Memphis I had to chance to join the good sister @_joycevaughn_ on the documentary film festival panel for the @map360_ film series and international artist residency.
