PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED FOR ANOTHER HOTEL The new 105-bedroom hotel on High Holborn will transform an existing underused office building into a compact city centre Point A hotel, benefiting from nearby attractions and good transport links. The project’s retrofit approach will minimise its impact on the Camden conservation area, and a combination of photovoltaic panels, green roofs and blue roofs will contribute towards its BREEAM ‘Excellent’ target rating. Camden’s planning committee unanimously approved the project last night, 13th April 2026. Thanks to all the team involved.

PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED A new 235-bedroom Point A hotel in the City of London. The internal retrofit makes the most of the challenging city centre location, with a compact and efficient layout arranged around a new internal atrium that brings natural light into the heart of the building and public walkway below. New bar and lounge areas will bring life to the street frontage, boosting footfall, local spending, and helping reinforce the City of London’s status as a leading global business and leisure destination. Congratulations to the project team! @savills @wearecurtins

Excited to share that the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal has been shortlisted for the World Architecture News Awards 2026 in the Transport category. @worldarchitecturenews Completed for the Isle of Man Government, the new ferry terminal is designed to handle 600,000 passengers a year travelling between Liverpool and Douglas. The original brief was for a simple, pavilion-style building that prioritised the foot passenger experience with their journey through the building organised around the perimeter to ensure they are always in visual contact with the ferry - making their experience of the terminal simple and intuitive. A huge congratulations to the entire team who helped bring this project to life.

We are delighted to share that the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal has been shortlisted for the RIBA North West Awards 2026 with so many other fantastic projects. The project marks over 7 years of hard work and collaboration with our client Isle of Man Government, and operator The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company @iomsteampacketcompany , project Mangers Turner @ourturnerandtownsend , where we have lead the clients design team including @aecom & @haskoning_official . We are extremely proud to have delivered this facility which will continue to support and enhance the vital link between the Isle of Man and Liverpool and is a building that countless travellers to and from the Isle of Man will be able to enjoy and experience. Well done to the whole team who worked on this project and good luck to all of the other shortlisted projects!!

Capel Manor, Horsmonden, Kent, 1967. Now Grade II listed, Capel Manor House is built on the foundations of a demolished Victorian mansion in Kent, with a new outdoor swimming pool inserted into the remains of the long lost winter gardens. The house was designed to give as great a feeling of space and openness as possible and to capture panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

On site where we’re converting a Grade II listed building from a bank into boutique luxury hotel. It’s been great to see period details including the existing walk-in safe and lion’s heads sculpted into the lead roof detailing.

We had a great time getting involved in the @thegingerbreadcity this year! Following the theme of the ‘Playful City’ we designed and built an edible house of cards (under construction) which is now on display in Coal Drops Yard alongside the rest of the gingerbread builds. It’s always a lot of fun getting creative and thinking outside of the box and makes a nice end to the year alongside our Christmas party which this year took place in Tower Bridge - an incredible venue with stunning views over the city. Our office will be closed over the holidays from the 25th December, reopening on the 2nd January. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us all at The Manser Practice! #themanserpracticearchitects #themanserpractice #gingerbreadcity #gingerbread #coaldropsyard @coaldropsyard @museumofarchitecture

We’ve had a busy autumn both in and out the office! Getting into the Halloween spirit pumpkin carving with @villeroyboch . Design discussions over 1:1 scale mockups, an evening at the @building_better_healthcare awards and watching our Endoscopy unit in Bradford progress on site are just a few of the things we’ve been up to! Lots more exciting things to look forward to in the new year! #themanserpracticearchitects #themanserpractice #architecture #autumn #BBHAwards2025 #bbhawards #stirlingstoriesnorth #riba
