Xenia Creative Retreat welcomes Manon Ajorque from the 1st until the 19th of April 2026. Born in 1998, Manon Ajorque is a visual artist based in Paris. She graduated in Printmaking from École Estienne in 2019. She presented her first solo exhibition, L’Odyssée, in 2025 at SEE Galerie (Paris), followed by a second solo exhibition, Construire un radeau, in early 2026 with Galerie Obras. Her work has been shown in France and internationally, notably at Galerie Sabine Bayasli (Paris), Cohle Gallery (Paris and Spain), as well as in institutional venues such as Le Préàvie, Bastille Design Center and Hôtel Mona Bismarck. She has participated in residencies at L’Octroi in Tours (2020) and at Le Manoir in Mouthier-Haute-Pierre (2025) and was a finalist for the Prix ICART. She has published two books : En un mot (Maison Apeiron, 2020) and Walter et Milou (Bang Éditions, 2022). Manon's painting practice is rooted in a reflection on dwelling, understood as an experience that is at once intimate, unstable and shaped by external forces. Informed by a personal history marked by displacement, she explores the house as an ambivalent space: both a refuge and a precarious place, always liable to disappear. This inquiry has gradually expanded to a broader scale, in relation to contemporary transformations of landscapes and territories. Her work thus questions the conditions of existence within a changing environment, where points of reference become fragile and the very notion of stability is called into question.
