Manned Camera is 10 years old!
I'm not one for unnecessary celebration, and in fact suffer the creeping horrors at the idea of too much self-promotion, but, I thought, on finding Manned Camera's certificate of incorporation the other day, and realising that I'd just missed the 10 year anniversary, well, that's something worth mentioning.
I won't prattle on about the how wonderful X and Y and Z has been, but suffice to say that I have made some good friends over the last ten years.

Although it's in this photo, the L-cube is now a thing of the past in our Alexa 35 set-ups. There's a lovely little serial input on the front of the camera, meaning the Cinetape brain can by-pass the L-Cube and we still get distance data on the Hi-5. Nice. It also saves 47 grams! 😆

On location in Abu Dhabi for the finale of the Blast Premier World Final (Counter Strike in other words - yes, it's still going)!
We were there to shoot contra-zoom hero shots (one for each competitor). We had to do 45 of them. We had one day of prep, and one day to shoot them.
I can confidently say that we are now the masters of the contra.

If there's one criticism that can be levelled at the Alexa 35, it's that it can get a touch heavy for handheld when fully built. If your operator knows their stuff however, the extra inertia does make for buttery smooth operating.
