As an exercise I’ve been thinking of animating some quotes from books I read that stick out to me, this is the first in what might be a series, who knows?

In 2020 @niminomusic reached out to me about doing some animation work, but I was booked on a job and wasn’t able to to say yes. Since then he would periodically reach out for other projects but the timing never worked out. Last month he reached out again to see if I could do some work for his new song “Better,” and I was finally able to say yes, and it does feel somewhat like this was the project that we were meant to collaborate on. Big thank you to him and to @kylekusanagi for their patience and persistence, and if you get a chance to see the Nimino tour that kicks off tonight at the Fonda, take it! I spoke with @toonboomanimation about our #rotoscope process for “I Was Born This Way,” and how we utilized Harmony to achieve the character animation. The three person animation team of myself, @scotthassell and @davebardin delivered over 150 shots of high-detail 24 fps animation, which was possible thanks to our custom Harmony workflow.
