healthy hair starts at the scalp! 💆🏼‍♀️ did you know the BEST oil treatment you can give your hair is from your natural oils your hair produces? yes, I’m talking about the oil that makes those greasy roots we all complain about 🥲😂 scalp health is finally being talked about more, but it can feel overwhelming. here is what I do to stimulate my scalp, remove product build up & treat my scalp & ends before every wash day.  + brush my hair with the one & only @glowbeauty.hair brush. the bristles are not only the best for detangling, but also exfoliating your scalp.  + use my boar bristle brush to move oils from my roots to my ends. I take half inch sections of my hair & hold the brush to the scalp and do sweeping motions & on the third time, drag the natural oils down through the ends. (check out my boar bristle brushing highlight for more info) + hair fall is normal. this is a more intense brushing than your hair normally gets so all the loose hairs that have fallen throughout your week that haven’t been removed from brushing will come out in the bristles. depending on density, it is normal to lose 50-100 hairs a day & most of those hairs come out while brushing or washing. because I wash every 5-7 days I will have more hair fall, hence the amount of hair I had on my brushes. + shampoo hair to remove dirt & excess oil. brush out gently by starting to brush at the ends & move up the hair shaft. + wring out excess water + using my conditioner or favorite mask as a leave in treatment. I apply mids to ends & use remaining product for face framing pieces + brush to distribute product evenly & style with your favorite claw clip + run errands, clean, or do whatever you please! wash out in a couple hours.  + I normally double shampoo (or use a clarifying scalp scrub as one of the shampoos) & condition & style as normal.  head to my boar bristle brush highlight for more information! . . . #scalphealth #scalptreatment #rosevilleblondes #rosevilleblondespecialist #rocklinblondespecialist #rocklinhair #rocklinhairstylist #rosevillehairstylist

one of my favorite parts of the service is the blowout & styling portion 💨 this is a huge part of my job, in my opinion, & I don’t take it lightly! I LOVE to show you how to recreate the style at home. here are my top 5 tips for a salon blowout at home: 1- use proper products for your hair type. example: if you have fine hair, a volumizing product will change your life, just like when you have curly or frizzy hair a smoothing blowout balm will make it so much easier! *a heat protectant is always a must before starting too* 2-rough dry until 75-80% dry. your hair is the most fragile when wet so rough drying will not only remove excess moisture from the hair, but will be more gentle on your hair. this is also my favorite time to get volume at the roots 🙌🏼 3- blow dry the ends of the section you’re drying first. the ends can get tangled easily when they’re wet, so drying the ends first will help the blowout go smoothly 💁🏼‍♀️ 4- blow dry the hair away from it’s natural fall. the more ways you over direct your hair, the more volume you will have! (ex: forward, up, side to side) 5- cool shot the hair before moving on to next section. this helps lock the style in, close the cuticle down, & add shine! 🌬️🌬️ do you like learning how to recreate salon looks at home? save this post to refer back to next time you go to blow your hair out! . . . . . . #auburncahairstylist #auburncahair #auburncahairdresser #auburnhairstylists #newcastlehairdresser #newcastlehairstylist #newcastlecahairstylist #newcastlecahair #newcastleca #downtownroseville #oldtownroseville #sacramentoblonding #sacramentoblonde #sacramentohairstylists #sacramentolivedinhair #rosevillelivedinhair #lincolnhair #penrynhairdresser #rocklincalifornia #rocklinhaircolorist #rocklinhairsalon #rocklinhairartist #rocklinhaircuts #downtownrocklin #downtownroseville #oldtownroseville #rocklinblonding #rocklinhair

can you believe her last color appointment was a face frame highlight in January?! we only color her hair about twice a year & maintain her hair health with masks & haircuts in between. overall making it so I see her about every 3-4 months 🤩 & that’s the beauty of lived in color 💁🏼‍♀️ curious about transitioning to a lower maintenance style? shoot me a dm 💛

little snippets into the last year 🤍 so much has changed & in the moment, it all felt so chaotic. now I can’t help but look at how much we’ve grown, what we’ve learned & all the memories (fun & hard) we’ve made. I love this little life of mine & am forever grateful for my people, my clients & their support over the past couple of years, but specifically this past year. there aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for the kindness I have been shown & the relationships I have built, I seriously love you all. 🤍 hehe forever grateful I get to hang out & pamper the coolest people ever ☺️🩷

confused by all the hair terms & jargon when booking? what does “custom color” mean you may ask? this means each color appointment is completely custom to YOU & your goals! we start with an in depth consultation where we look at pictures, take a peek in your own hair & decide the best look for you. I explain what we will do from foil placement, tip outs, lowlights, the root shadow, the formulation of your tone & shape of your cut. hair jargon can be hard to understand what it will mean to you, especially with having social media at our fingertips. hair is not one size fits all & there has been a shift in the industry within the past couple of years towards specialty custom color. my girl Lauren always gives me full reign with her hair (biggest compliment EVER), however, this is her WEDDING HAIRRRR 🥰🥹✨ so we wanted something a little brighter, but where she could still come into the salon only 1-2x a year 🤗 her goals were: + add shape & movement to her cut + blend sparkles + brighter around the face & I love how it turned out 😍 curious about what a custom color looks like for you? dm me, I’d love to help you find your signature color ✨

final results from her last session to this session✨ while both are beautiful & we both were happy with the results of these appointments, my client ultimately felt like she needed a change. going more lived in will make it so that she can: • go longer in between appointments • give her hair a break from lightener (this second look was created with no lightener) • have a softer grow out • give her more natural dimension to work off of going forward so now what? at her next appointment we will tone, do a treatment & trim to keep her looking refreshed ✨ are you team high maintenance blonde or low maintenance?

how she left vs how she came in ✨ I see my girl Maddie about 2-3 times a year for her color & every time we come in we are so impressed by how well it’s grown out. Curious why? Let me explain ⬇️ we colored Maddie’s hair 6 months ago & had not done a full custom color since December of last year. I will see her once more this year to freshen up her color with a mini custom color service. when you leave enough of your natural color alone in between the brighter pieces, especially at the root, the softer the grow out will be ✨ In my latest reel I talked about Maddie’s new growth (that we did not foil) which helped give us all this dreamy depth she has now 🤭 while keeping her hair happy & healthy 🌞 Curious about being in the salon less, but loving your color more? Let’s chat 🤗 . . . . . #rocklinhairextensions #rocklinhairsalon #rocklinhairdresser #rocklinhairstylists #rocklinmoms #rocklinmomsinbusiness #rosevillehairsalon #rosevillehairstylists #rosevillegreyblending #auburnhikingtrails #auburnrealtor #auburnrealestateagent #auburninteriordesign #rocklininteriordesign #loomismoms #loomishair #loomishairstylist #loomis #granitebayhair #granitebayrealestate #folsom

majority of my clients have so much new growth, which is AMAZING, so I have had to come up with ways to protect those babies. ⚠️ *disclaimer* if you do decide to foil the new growth it 9 times out of 10 can & will look like breakage ⚠️ it is my job to protect your new growth in the salon at all costs 🫡 Here’s some ways I protect the new growth while foiling: •I weave my section, place my foil & tease to move all the shorter hairs (new growth) out of the foil •clip it out of the way so they don’t interfere with where I am lightening The result: •the new growth will act as a lowlight in between your highlights, giving it a really diffused, lived in look near the root. •I go over blow drying & styling tips with my clients so they can continue to encourage the new growth, while not feeling frizzy or top heavy with all the new hairs coming in I always communicate to my clients when they have an abundance of new growth. We have a conversation about expectations for their color given the fact that the result can shift because of the natural lowlight the new growth will create. 9.9/10 times my clients would rather have a lowlight at their root from the new growth than me foil it, potentially weakening or damaging the new hairs coming in. Stay tuned to see her after ✨ #sacramentoblonding #rosevillelivedinhair #sacramentolivedinhair #rosevillehair #auburncahair #sacramentohairstylists #sacramentophotographer #granitebayhair #folsomphotographer #grassvalleyhair #grassvalleyhairstylist #lincolncarealestate #auburncahairstylist #loomishair #loomisca #loomisrealestate #loomisrealtor #rocklinrealestate #rocklinhair #rocklinca #rocklinhairstylist #rocklinhairextensions #rocklinblondespecialist #rosevilleblondespecialist #rosevillecoffee #auburnca

70-80% of my clients have this question! “Is my hair breaking!?” 🥺😭 Maybe yes, but also maybe no. Here is how to tell the difference ⤵ Breakage ⚡️ -typically will vary in length & typically is not even throughout the head -feels dry & brittle to the touch -the end of the broken hair will be rigid & uneven (like a split end) -typically seen at the ends of the hair or around the face New Growth ✨ - can also be different lengths because your hair follicle has different growth cycles at different times -will taper at the ends -can be throughout the head -can make your hair feel frizzier than it actually is because the hair doesn’t have enough weight to keep it down (because it’s shorter than your hair) if you need help deciding whether your hair is new growth or breakage, please ask your stylist or shoot me a message, I would love to help you out 🤍 p.s. these @domdomhair rollers are my new favorite obsession 🙌🏼✨ . . . #rosevillelivedinhair #sacramentolivedinhair #sacramentoblonde #sacramentohairstylists #auburncahair #auburncahairstylist #granitebayhair #folsomhair #rosevilleextensions #granitebayextensions #rocklinhairextensions #loomishair #loomishairextensions #grassvalleyhair #grassvalleyhairstylist #lincolncarealestate #auburncarealestate #loomisrealestate #auburnphotographer #rosevillephotographer #folsomphotographer #loomisinteriordesign

hair loss is a hot topic right now ‼️😕 there are many different reasons for it, but here are some ways to help stimulate hair growth or slow the shedding down: 1. boar bristle brushing 🐗🎀💆‍♀️ 2. stop wearing tight pony tails in the same spot! (especially with wet hair) 🤕🙉🙈 3. start learning about YOUR scalp & how often you should be washing 🤓 4. check your diet 🍓🥑🥜🥦🥕 5. exfoliate your scalp 🫧 6. drink lots of water & get GOOD sleep 💦💤😴 7. add some movement into your routine 🏋️‍♀️💪🏼🚶‍♀️ 8. ask your stylist if you’re using the proper shampoo/conditioner for your needs 🧴💆‍♀️🛁 curious about why these help stimulate your hair growth or slow the shedding down? stay tuned this week for more explanation ✨ Let me know if you have any questions, I’d love to help 🤍 . . #sacramentoblonde #sacramentohairstylists #sacramentolivedinhair #rosevillelivedinhair #penrynhair #penrynhairdresser #rocklincalifornia #rocklinhaircolorist #rocklinhairsalon #rocklinhairartist #rocklinhaircuts #downtownfolsom #folsomhairstylist #folsomhairsalon #granitebayhair
