it’s hard not to get discouraged when I think of my fitness level only 6 months ago and how today, I can’t even do a full squat. I have to remind myself that only one month ago, I could not walk. And with that in mind, yes I certainly have so much further to go- but look how far I’ve come already.
It’s not built in a day. There’s no magic pill you can take. You get one body and one day at a time. We can do hard things 🤍

3 months post op and we’re finally moving and grooving!
Back in early December I had my third knee surgery. It felt like the wind was taken out of my sails just as I was finding my rhythm with personal training and really enjoying my workout split. I had a cadaver tissue graft glued into my knee cartilage, as well as bone marrow taken from my hip and injected into my knee.
While I’ve developed a new found appreciation for long walks on cold mornings, I have a long road before I am back to my pre surgery fitness level. In a lot of ways it felt like my life was put on pause, but I believe the Lord has a plan and I trust in His process.
One thing remains a constant for me- movement is healing! And while that may not look like what it was 6 months ago, it doesn’t mean it’s any less important 🤍

It is a GIFT to be able to move and strengthen your body.
This is the truth I hold onto when I’m having a hard time motivating myself to workout. Not every day is going to feel amazing, and that’s okay.
But reminding yourself that it is a privilege and of your WHY is key.
Some things that help me stay disciplined
- working out with friends or my husband
- listening to music or a podcast I love
- not giving myself the chance to change my mind. (For example, changing into my workout clothes before I leave work and go home/to the gym)
Save for later or send to a friend who may need to hear it 🤍
