Honouring a legacy this ANZAC Day.
On the dawn flight from Tāmaki Makaurau to Dharawal Country, Air New Zealand’s “A Flight to Remember” carries the stories of those who served.
We are deeply humbled to see the head of our family, Sani Elia Lagigietama Lakatani, recognised among them, with his story shared in this one-off commemorative edition.
His service record can also be found on the Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum Online Cenotaph.
We extend our sincere thanks to Madison and Victoria from Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum for your support in helping us uphold his legacy.
Lest we forget.
Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou.
To manatu tukulagi e tautolu a lautolu.
To nakai nimo.
2023-2024 I worked with Auckland Pride as their Major Event Producer, bringing the March & Party to life!! Established a working relationship with RainbowYOUTH, helping them with their event, Dress with Pride. Worked my ass off with traffic management plans (bro don’t get me started), multiple vendors, locations and networking to ensure our babies had a great end of the month! Thank you API, you already know ~ The Festival just gets better and better each year and I’m so proud to have been a part of it! Happy Pride Month, everyone ✨👅🇳🇺🇼🇸
November 2022 saw the debut dance theatre show ‘Milk & Honey’ from the boyz. @nappyboyzsthakl ~ a South Auckland Collective are my favourite dance collective. They’re accessible, practice sustainability, push goals, sell seki merch, are safe, inclusive, have great-fun chemistry, resilient & full of so much, swag. We worked together in securing them funding from @levapasifika to bring this show to life 🫱🏼🫲🏽 tbh, most times I would sit in awe of their commitment and passion for dance. We navigated some hard moments together but some of the greatest lessons came out of this, and I’m so proud of us for that. I sang for them (behind curtains dw bout me), produced and assisted stage management alongside my good mate Lusia (great noodle negotiations on the PaknSave floor in Māngere hehe). Thank you Anks, your core team, NBz, for trusting me in being apart of your Collective for a little while. And it’s still NS 😏👅 some moments from your fave producer ~ a time was had!!!!
July 2022 - August 2023 I worked with RainbowYOUTH as their Engagement Coordinator. Aka susbags for all the fun events, making sure they happen and with the right peoples. Shoutout to RY, I travelled a lot out of Tāmaki taking care of our rangatahi and I’ve only really realised that now, putting this together! Biggest accomplishment was executing Dress with Pride with the most attendees since its inception, proud of our Comms team and all the greatness we were able to produce together.
We announce the passing of the head of our family, Rtd. Sgt. Hon. Sani Elia Lagigietama Lakatani, former Premier of Niue.
4 June 1936 – 17 January 2026
Further information regarding arrangements will be shared in due course.
