10 years ago, our small prospective chorus had just completed its third rehearsal.
This past weekend at the SAI, Spirit of the Midwest Region 5 competition in Cedar Rapids, IA, Vocal Standard achieved a regional score over 700 points for the first time, and qualified for our fourth international contest.
We are so thankful for the great friends we got to perform for, and we feel inspired by the performances we experienced in the audience.
Personally, I am so grateful for this group of incredible women. Not only are they exceptional singers, but also, they are some of the best people you will ever meet.
I am thankful for all of the dedicated leaders in the chorus, but I must give a special shoutout to our incredible Associate Director, Stacy Schumacher. Her vision and expertise is ever-present and observable in everything we do.
Thank you for a great weekend, VS. I can’t wait to write our next chapters together. 💜
Time for another hop across the pond! 🤓✈️
First stop is Calpe, Spain to judge the BIBA - Barbershop of IBeria Association competition for the first time 🇪🇸. It will also be my first time getting to judge SNG alongside Craig William.
Coincidentally, the second half of the trip is to the UK to work with The Great Western Chorus of Bristol 🇬🇧, under the direction of…. Craig! 🤭
The coaching was booked long before I knew I’d be judging in Spain, or who I’d be judging with LOL
I promise to post “before” and “after” pictures of Craig 😉
And now it’s time to hop across the pond in the other direction 🇦🇺
Excited to be back with Jen Irvine and the wonderful Vocalescence chorus.
Also, it’s my first time experiencing one of American Airlines’ newest Dreamliners. These seats come with “doors” that you can close 🤓
15 hours and 48 minutes in the air. Let’s go ✈️
