On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2026, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, met with Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding strategic partnership between the Manara Center and ADL, grounded in shared efforts to counter hate in all its forms, regardless of its source or target, and to advance dialogue and education as foundations for sustainable coexistence. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in strengthening resilient and inclusive societies.

In his statement speech, H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Manara Center, emphasized that we are confronting a war of ideas, and if we seek lasting peace, we must invest in minds first. He underscored that education is the most powerful tool to protect societies, promote coexistence, and defeat extremism at its foundations.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian Minister of State for the Interior, Sports and Integration, stressed the need to take the accelerating risks of radicalization very seriously, noting that only a holistic approach can address root causes and safeguard societies from intolerance and violence.
Building on the discussion, Ms. Bakhita Alremeithi, Executive Director of the Manara Center, highlighted that social resilience cannot be imposed from above; it is built through cooperation when youth, faith leaders, and communities become co owners of the solutions shaping their societies, advancing peace and strengthening coexistence.
وفي كلمته خلال الجلسة، أكد معالي الدكتور علي راشد النعيمي، رئيس مركز منارة، أننا نواجه حرب أفكار، وإذا أردنا سلاماً دائماً فعلينا أن نستثمر في العقول أولاً. وشدد على أن التعليم هو الأداة الأكثر فاعلية لحماية المجتمعات، وتعزيز التعايش، وهزيمة التطرف من منابعه.
وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد معالي يواخيم هيرمان، وزير الدولة البافاري للداخلية والرياضة والاندماج، ضرورة التعامل بجدية مع تسارع مخاطر التطرف، مشيراً إلى أن المقاربة الشمولية وحدها قادرة على معالجة الأسباب الجذرية للتطرف وحماية المجتمعات من التعصب والعنف.
واستكمالاً للنقاش، أوضحت السيدة بخيته الرميثي، المدير التنفيذي لمركز منارة، أن الصمود المجتمعي لا يُفرض من أعلى، بل يُبنى عبر التعاون عندما يصبح الشباب وقادة الأديان والمجتمعات شركاء في صياغة الحلول التي تشكل مجتمعاتهم، بما يعزز السلام ويرسخ التعايش.

Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the primary threat we face today lies in the spread of destructive ideologies and narratives. He highlighted the UAE’s effective approach to countering this challenge through trust-building dialogue, values-based education, and firm legal frameworks that reject hate.
By altering destructive narratives today, we can shape the future. This approach is not idealism; it is a sound and strategic response.
Dr. Al Nuaimi further underscored that dialogue is not optional; it is the most durable and strategic pathway to influencing and reshaping the behavior of those who promote hate.
وأكد معاليه أن أخطر تهديد نواجهه اليوم يتمثل في انتشار الأيديولوجيات والسرديات الهدّامة، مشيراً إلى نهج دولة الإمارات القائم على الحوار وبناء الثقة، والتعليم المرتكز على القيم، وأطر قانونية حازمة ترفض الكراهية.
ومن خلال تغيير السرديات الهدّامة اليوم يمكننا تشكيل المستقبل؛ فهذه المقاربة ليست مثالية، بل استراتيجية راسخة.
وشدد معاليه على أن الحوار ليس خياراً، بل هو المسار الأكثر استدامة واستراتيجية للتأثير في سلوك من يروّجون للكراهية وتحويله نحو مسارات إيجابية.
