apple slices series//
these series were created with the mind of missing the place that i can never return to. when i was a kid my dad would bring lots of apples from the mountains of Almaty and my mom would cut them for me while i was “doing my homework”, but really i was just drawing objects in my imagination. shed kiss me as i eat it. then i run to my dad to hug him after work.
funny how the series turned out to have a shape like an open heart. ❤️🩹
apple slices plates series
when i was a child, my mother would cut apples for me to cheer me up. now, as an adult, i find myself missing that. from this longing, i shaped these small plates. they rest in the hand like an apple, glazed to look withered, marking how much time has passed.
fun fact, both me and apples were born in Almaty🍎
