Some more highlights and snippets from my last event. Can't spoil the whole thing but had to share some bits and pieces of this first story. Hands were flying during the listening session (2, 7, 8) and my dawgs were vibing during the DJ sets (13, 14, 18).
S/o to @_moustafha for the tunes and @listener_paris for the sound :)
Also special thanks to @mayeayeaye_ for helping me run this smoothly <3

I grew up surrounded by many cultures and this past Sunday I had the chance to tell a bit of my story and "métissage" through music. This was the first edition of The Coloured Room: beautiful energy, proper music listening, and personal & historical background. Thank you to those who showed up and I can't wait for more people to tap in with me ☆
Big cheers to my man @_moustafha who got vulnerable and blessed us with his story and a beautiful set.
S/o to @listener_paris for the space and @charlynesanogo@ritaakris for the set design

Telling the story of “métissage” through music.
Telling the story of creolization through music.
Telling the story of racial diversity through music.
That’s what The Coloured Room is about: showing the diversity of cultural influences that shaped us, what they mean and where they’ve led us. I’m doing that through a commented listening session and DJ sets, because music is a reflection of our world. Also, I have the privilege of welcoming @_moustafha as my first guest, who’ll contribute to the listening session then bless us with a set. Join us for this first event at @listener_paris on May 3rd.
Listening session in the listening room: 2pm to 4pm, 15 tickets at 25€ each… so don’t sleep! Link in bio.
DJ sets at the main floor: 4pm to 6pm, open access.

After a little summer break, OROKO DAY is backkk!

Discover a little about MOUSSÉ before tonight’s set:
“I like music and I like people. So I thought it would be cool to play music for the people.”
Born and raised in Paris with a French-Senegalese background, Moussé grew up in a household where music wasn’t just on — it was the main character. Influenced by West African rhythms, US hip hop, UKG, jazz and salsa, he draws inspiration from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Toumani Diabaté, Lauryn Hill, SAULT, and Crazy Cousinz.
Guided by feeling, not genre, his sets are diverse, soulful, and unapologetically for the crowd. Expect surprises. And jazzy melodies. And bass.
Also, he listens to Tracy Chapman in the shower.”
