Tonight, I’m making a dish in honor of my late mother. It’s something I’ve never attempted to make before, knowing it will never be as good as hers. Honored to cook with this top 10 crew 🤍 #acccbs
Thank you to @thechefsgarden_ohio for these veggies to play with. They must have just been harvested because they had a great shelf life and tasted like farm air. With them, I made a celery root pavé, a spiced maple purple carrot purée, and a black garlic nuoc cham. The rest were just blanched to preserve the natural flavor.
Chef Malyna Si’s story spans both Cambodian and Lao heritage.
For this dinner, she is honoring the memory of her late mother — whose cooking shaped the way she understands food, family, and tradition.
On April 29, she joins Chef Ann Ahmed for a one-night collaborative tasting exploring the shared and distinct culinary traditions of Khmer and Lao cuisine. (Sold out, email for waitlist)
An evening of memory, heritage, and storytelling through food.
This started very wholesome... and then... yeah. 😭🔥

Catch me running on the farm tonight. My suggestion: Don’t eat plants you aren’t familiar with if you’re allergic to several plants/fruits. 🙂↔️Tonight on CBS! #acccbs
My mother, who was born and raised in Vientiane, Laos, would make larb when she wanted to have a quick weeknight meal. She would get these fertilized egg yolks (I think they were duck?) and include them as well. Making this dish (with beef) for this most recent episode of @americasculinarycupcbs was in honor of my mom and the culinary traditions she shared with me. #acccbs
