Jehovah Rapha- You couldn’t have told me that in 2026 just days after accepting an award and proclaiming that the muzzle over my mouth was breaking off that I’d be hit with full force laryngitis AND pneumonia in my lower left lung. 3 ER visits left me questioning if this was how I was going out and if I should be writing out plans. I couldn’t rest. I was struggling to breathe. And my lung was in major distress. Even had a reaction to the inhaler they gave me at one point. BUT GOD. With the laryngitis I lost my ability to speak. I couldn’t pray. But I knew I needed prayer and encouragement to make it through this. My community, my hubby and my family. Thank you for interceding on my behalf. Checking on me. Keeping me encouraged. Mighty God I didn’t know how this was going to go. But He did. And that id be victorious. Hallelujah!!! It will take my lungs some time to get back to normal. Still coughing but not like I was and I CAN SPEAK. 🗣️ But thank you again everyone for your love.

I don’t usually make “Weekend In Review” posts but this one is special. I was awarded the Best Gospel R&B award at the Midwest Gospel Awards on Friday and was able to perform my two songs Peace and Testify. The woman you see here wasn’t even performing her music until a few months ago. I’ve allowed fear to grip and muzzle me for ages. Questions of am I worthy enough to Steward this? Is my voice enough? It’s not strong enough. And what if you don’t hit the notes what will people say? Embarrassing. But I’ve been stepping out on faith. Doing it terrified but wanting to be obedient and give God the glory. And He gets all the gloryyyyyyyyyyyy. I’m amazed at the testimonies and how the Lord is movinggg expeditiously. So… even if I don’t win anything else, I’m thankful and I’m going to keep going. Special thank you to @bigsteve_513 for inviting me and awarding me. Over the past couple of years I’ve had the honor to work with some amazing kiddos. I greeted them every morning with a smile and checked in on how they were feeling. Friday I told them goodbye. It’s always hard walking away from students I’ve built relationships with but I’m always rewarded when I see them cross that finish line at graduation (I’ll absolutely be there) and later in life when they’re in their careers.
