In the lead-up to the festival, Nakisha is working with local amateur & professional musicians to create brand new musical portraits inspired by Elgar’s Enigma Variations.

Help us raise funds for our Building the Future Project by taking part in our tallest sunflower competition! 🌱💛
For just £3 (cash only), you’ll get everything you need to grow your very own sunflower:
🪴 Pot

🌱 Compost
🏷️ Labels
Kits will be available from the office from Monday 11th May (between 10am & 4pm).
Take your kit home, plant your seeds, and once your sunflower seedlings reach around 4” / 10cm high, bring them back to be planted in our special Sunshine Bed 🌞 in our garden.
We’ll do our best to keep them watered & safe! 💦🌻
📏 Official judging day: 22nd August
🏆The winning prize is a delicious meal in our wonderful café! ☕🍰
Competition rules:
• Buy your £3 kit from the office
• Follow the planting instructions on the pot
• Bring seedlings back once they reach 4” / 10cm high
• Plant them in the gridded Sunshine Bed

We’re thrilled that Julian Littman will be performing tomorrow night. With an incredible dual career in music and acting, Julian has been a member of Steeleye Span since 2011, and has also performed with Gerry Rafferty, Barbara Dickson, Charlie Dore and Dexys Midnight Runners.
On screen and stage, he appeared in the film version of Evita alongside Madonna, and starred in Queen’s hit musical We Will Rock You.
He’s currently playing Lindsey Buckingham in the acclaimed new play The Ballad of Buckingham Nicks — and at Raising the Roof he’ll be performing TWO of Buckingham’s most iconic songs!

First up… Richard Allsopp (Ledbury Performance Poet) 🔥
Richard studied physics where W.H. Auden studied English, then went on to become a research scientist… though he’s better remembered (by retired boffins!) for writing poetry—just like Auden 😉
After competing in the last two Ledbury Poetry Slams, he’s realised his poems might be missing a few essential rude words but still struggles to be more “F-fluent”” 😄

Raising the Roof (8th May) - one week to go! We are delighted to announce that the Raising the Roof MC is Adrian Mealing!
Adrian is a Malvern Poetry Slam Champ, co-host of Ledbury Poetry’s Diversion and one half of The Very Grimm Brothers. He sings à cappella with Men In General, A Fistful of Spookies and The Spooky Men’s Chorale (Aus). A million years ago, Adrian founded the Malvern Fringe and has said - ‘The Cube is the heart & soul of the Hills.’ Get ready for a night of packed entertainment from 7:30pm! 👏
