A little recap of the people and places I’ve been lucky to write about recently —
1 & 2: A lush plantation home in Kerala, shaped by architect homeowners with a little help from their architect friends @aslamsham_architects
3 & 4: A conversation with @doshilevien that began with design and landed in the neighborhood we coincidentally share
5 & 6: A restored colonial home by @sianarchitects now in full bloom – layered, lush, and a pleasure to put into words
7 & 8: @sridharpoddar ‘s craft-led journey, both unexpected and inspirational
9 & 10: Our new feature, Design Origins (ft @yaahvibynikitabansal ) where we trace what makes designers tick, and how new collections really come to life
Day 2 of Ehsaas – Live the Loom Life took the journey deeper into the heart of Kutch — where heritage, hospitality, and handmade came together in unforgettable ways.
From discovering the rich textures of Gujarat’s Mashroo weaving to walking through a slice of history in Mandvi, the day unfolded with purpose and quiet beauty.
A traditional thali lunch in a weaver’s home brought alive the warmth of local kitchens, while the afternoon opened up into the world of extraweft weaving and intricate embroideries inside traditional bhungas.
Evening brought a sense of calm and connection — with a visit to Rao Lakhpati Chhatri and a soulful dinner in a local homestay, set to the sounds of folk music and easy conversation under the stars.
Another day of learning, sharing, and truly living the loom life — one story, one stitch, one experience at a time.
Ehsaas is Aadyam Handwoven’s invitation to experience the soul of Indian handloom — not from a distance, but up close. Designed as a curated journey for the tastemakers, it brings participants to the very source of craft — into artisan homes, onto loom floors, and through the cultural fabric of weaving communities. It’s about building awareness, creating meaningful connections, and spotlighting the value of craft in its most authentic form.

A few candid wedding snapshots we’ll be replaying forever…
1. Fits of uncontrollable laughter
2 & 3. All hands on deck!
4. Or sometimes, hands free…
5. A few too many dizzying twirls
6. Breaking out in sweats
7. A giggle snuck into the serious moments
8. And the rollercoaster begins!
All our love,
Mallika & Abhishek

Portuguese utopian universe of tumbling flowers, patterned tiles, sherbet walls, deep twilights, literally sparkling views, and the best chocolate ice cream bars, spongiest cheese, and iced lattes, sipped on a little terrace between the sea and a bougainvillea tree — not pictured but utterly unforgettable.
Also a very special coming together of family (and friends!) in ways unimaginable this time last year 🇵🇹
14/03/25 - Combed through the club (read: drive) to find my favourite Dark Disco photos – and then edit them down – but it turns out there were too many, turning it into too mammoth a task. I guess that also says something about how much fun this night was and how many memories and moments it holds. In an attempt to not miss out at all, here’s a love letter to *some of the best bits.
Forever grateful to everyone near and far who helped pull it together (in 7 days?!), showed up sequined out, and transformed the night into a fuzzy disco fever dream ❤️🔥
