Painted this #greengoddess for Vallejos famous Lisa Gutierrez-Wilson aka our town Grinch 💚💚 she had an old piece of wood fencing that needed #love and asked me to free style it 🙏. I definitely wanted to make a #garden piece, full of #joy and #color for her because she is full of life, passion and love, but I haven't been in the best head space lately for the type of exhuberence I was going for... thankfully the universe gave me the gift of getting to be with my daughter's to see their first, (and my favorite) Broadway show #wicked When I sat down to paint #green was all I could see.. and flashes to the scene in the movie where Alphabas inner child helps her out.. I cried because my life is full of change right now and I'm trying to heal my inner child and be the best mom to my babies.. I identified so much with that scene ... It inspired me to continue to trust. Know I've got my own back and no matter how dire things feel my light is strong ! Even in dark times I can pull from my heart what I need to make it work. In my darkest mind space I can create something #beautiful I don't know who this green lady is but she's inspired by two green ladies.. one fictional that reminds us to be all we're meant to be despite the opposition and one very real lady who does so much for the community of #vallejo with donations, time, organizing and creating resources for folks who need it and brings joy to us by being the best Grinch ever! 💚 I hope y'all love this one... For the last two months the Soltrans Sereno bus station has been my second home. I want to take this time, as I reflect on this intense and beautiful experience to acknowledge @_ky.thompson of @plcares.haircare who recommend me to @soltrans for this amazing project. So today was pretty awesome! I invited women in our community to participate in the painting of butterflies on my mural. These beautiful, nurturing ladies do so much for Vallejo to keep things positive and flowing. They bring so much joy to others, so I of course wanted to add that energy to my mural 🤷♀️. What was so touching is that some of them were nervous about participating and doubting their artistic skills, but they all did fabulous and they all left feeling empowered and happy. Thank you so much ladies for always bringing it!
