It’s always such a treat to return to my little Italian house… the one place where I truly get to recharge. 🤪😊
Most of you know my life is rather full on - understatement of the year (😂 entirely by design, and I wouldn’t have it any other way). I tend to work rather long days - 13 to 14 hours, weekends included - so having this space to step away is nurturing and needed!
This trip was even more meaningful because I brought the wonderfully talented
@malcolmwinyard with me — the creative force behind this house. He has curated everything so beautifully, from the layout to the textiles to every carefully chosen detail. He’s my hero!
Of course, true to form, within moments of arriving he was already rearranging things 🤣 and somehow making everything even better. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We filmed two very fun videos together for my
@julie.in.italy YouTube channel, and I cannot wait for you to see them - first one airing this coming Sunday.
In between filming, we soaked up everything I love about being here - long, delicious lunches, time with old and new friends, a visit to Lucca, two irresistible flea markets (with one very special find I can’t wait to share), and evenings at home cooking, enjoying aperitivo, and talking endlessly about interiors and life.
We also made progress on the house itself - including choosing the exterior wall colour and we are absolutely thrilled with the colour choice and I can’t wait to show you.
And now back to reality… I do have a
@mapperton_estate Illustrated/coffee table book being announced in a few weeks time and still have loads more to do (ahem, captions for 300 photos!) but at least my battery has been recharged! Ci vediamo a presto! 🇮🇹
