Happy new year! I ended the year animating this bone-chilling moment from the Magnus Archives that sparked my desire to animate again! Overall I'm happy with how this animation turned out, even if it's not 100% how I wanted it to be, but I hope this marks a year full of finished projects!

Sketch masterpost! I decided to recap this year's art in a masterpost, to document my skill improvement since today marks a breakthrough in my art! Periodically artists experience "breakthroughs", something that happens where, after a period of struggling with a certain feature with their art, suddenly something clicks in its place and you reach the next level in your skill. I experienced that today. Finally after months of going back and forth between clean and rough style, static expressions and over the top, I reached a point where I am so satisfied with the result in a way I've never been before! The natural expressions, the clean but soft pencils, the natural shading, it's everything I've ever wanted from my portraits! I've put every important sketch from this year art journey, from newest (today 1&2 slides) to oldest when i was going through the initial stages of the breakthrough up to the very beginning (not pictured) when I made those Baldur's Gate 3 portraits in january, the beginning of me pushing to become better at faces.
