An architect’s home in a Wikkelhouse. 🌿 What is a Wikkelhouse?
A Wikkelhouse is a sustainable, modular tiny home made from layered recycled cardboard, designed for minimal living with a low environmental footprint. How cool is that!
Minimalistic living, surrounded by nature. Honest materials. Pure lines. Nothing unnecessary.
In a space like this, every choice matters.
That is why MAKUS fits so naturally here. Quietly present. Perfectly integrated.
Living with less. Choosing with intention. 🤍

Most kitchens look finished. Few actually feel finished.
“Everything feels well thought out, from the design to the functionality.”
★★★★★ Mrs. Pakvis
That balance is where it gets interesting.
When nothing distracts, and everything works.
✨ Look at light on the structured wood! We cannot stop looking at it. The beauty of nature, the purest there is.
This kitchen is from Stef Plouvier, captured by Majda Vidakovic. We were amazed by the originality of the interior. Original selection of design classics, a thought true art collection and colorful, are words that came to our mind.
For the kitchen: structural wood fronts add depth and tactility. Raw, expressive, and steadily gaining ground. Combined with a refined aluminium worktop and the MAKUS Moon cooktop.
Quietly integrated. Match.

Does this make you as excited as it makes us? 💗
This kitchen makes me smile every time. Designed by Bettina Neseker of Studio Vacay. Personal, bold and incredibly tasteful. A space with character and confidence.
The MAKUS Simply Pink cooktop feels completely at home here. Not added, but truly integrated.
This is what happens when you dare to choose. ✨

A kitchen with its own signature. ✨
Designed by Bou Living in collaboration with Mugg Kitchens. Every tone and material carefully chosen. Thought through. Perfectly balanced.
The MAKUS Moon integrates seamlessly into the design. Present, yet subtle.
This is what happens when vision and craftsmanship meet. 🤍

This project holds such a special place for us.
Set within the main body of a beautifully restored former school house, this kitchen was designed to honour both the character of the original building and the clear, considered vision our client brought from the very beginning.
Recently featured on The Great House Revival on @rteone , the house is a thoughtful renovation of the old school house, complete with a new extension that allows the old and the new to sit comfortably side by side.
The kitchen itself sits beneath soaring ceilings of over 3 meters, giving the space a quiet sense of grandeur.
We leaned into a Japanse-inspired palette and detailing throughout, balancing warmth, simplicity, and strong architectural lines.
A project shaped by a client with a clear point of view, and brought to life with care in every detail. 🤍

A kitchen that breathes calm. ✨
This is the studio kitchen of our beloved partner Studio Fedde, featuring the MAKUS Moon.
Soft tones. Warm wood. Pure balance.
You can experience it yourself at the Utrechtsestraat in Amsterdam.
Design, craftsmanship and color coming together in one space. 🤍

Stainless steel. Soft rose. A balance of strength and subtlety. ✨
This is where bold material meets refined color.
A statement without shouting.
Your kitchen is more than a place to cook. It reflects who you are, how you live, what you love.
Your kitchen, your story. 🤍

Why are induction cooktops always black? 🤔
That question sparked Makus in 2018.
The idea was simple. Turn the cooktop from a technical appliance into a beautiful interior piece. In color. Something that adds to the harmony of a kitchen instead of something you try to hide.
And today that idea received an amazing recognition. 🎉
The Makus Moon just won the European Product Design Award in the category Household Products. 🏆
The world’s first induction cooktop with integrated extraction in color. 🌈
Celebrating this one today! 🥂✨

Color on your cooktop. Art on your plate ✨
Vegan chef Ola created this bold composition of garlic cream, pearl barley, beetroot, lamb’s lettuce and fig. Pure, layered, unexpected. Exactly how we love it.
At MAKUS, cooking is more than heat. It is expression. 🤍
