Collaborative Power of Contact Improvisation is a week-long invitation to practice CI while sharing survival skills. We understand that much of the world is overwhelmed by power dynamics and domination, and we want to respond by sharing power and engaging in relational ways of being. Inspired by The Love Makers Company, we use the question: What can we do together that we can't do alone? to challenge ourselves in our dances and create micropolitical responses together.
This year, we are joined by Makisig Akid and Anya Cloud (The Love Makers Company), who will guide us through practical and fantastical queer collective survival skills centered on love, towards collective flourishing. Together, we will explore ways of approaching touch and improvisation where agency is not negotiated, but respected and supported.
The event will be structured with workshops in the morning, labs in the afternoon and jams in the evening, with open spaces for co-creation throughout the week.
Practical information :
Arrival: Monday, August 3rd between 2pm and 6pm. Departure: Monday, August 10th after breakfast.
Prices:
Solidarity rate for BIPOC participants : €315. We offer a reduced rate for Black, Indigenous, or People of Color—those who experience being perceived as non-white and face discrimination based on this. We recognize that BIPOC people who pass as white also experience discrimination and erasure, and we would like to extend this rate to everyone; we are working with limited resources and hope you understand.
Actual cost : €430 for the week, including food, accommodation and access to all studios and activities.
Supporter rate : €450–€600 or more. If you have access to financial benefits, we encourage you to be honest with yourself. Financial solidarity is what makes this event accessible; by paying more, you directly enable others to participate.
Full scholarship : Depending on the number of applications and supporting contributions, we hope to be able to offer 1 or 2 fully funded places. If this becomes possible, we will open applications by mid-June.

With strength, tenderness and the potential of threes, as well as through physical retraining of reflexes, images of queer collaboration are created. Bodies connect and set in motion an intertwining with gentle, precarious collisions and risky touching strategies.
With time and calm, possible reactions are processed and the physical, emotional and relational effects are traced in order to get closer to the truth.
In the face of cultural, social and political setbacks, this work is a passionate call to action by the community, as well as an exercise in survival, a balm and a hymn to queer love in equal measure.

Mit Kraft, Zärtlichkeit und dem Potential von Dreierkonstellationen sowie durch körperliches Retraining von Reflexen werden Bilder queerer Zusammenarbeit geschaffen. Körper verbinden sich und setzen mit sanften, prekären Kollisionen und risikoreichen Berührungsstrategien eine Verflechtung in Gang. Mit Zeit und in Ruhe werden mögliche Reaktion verarbeitet und der körperlichen, emotionalen und relationalen Wirkung nachgespürt, um der Wahrheit näher zu kommen. Angesichts der kulturellen, sozialen und politischen Rückschritte, ist diese Arbeit ein flammender Aufruf der Gemeinschaft zum Handeln sowie eine Übung, um zu Überleben, ist Balsam und Hymne an die queere Liebe gleichermaßen.

Im November präsentiert DOCK 11 ein intensives Programm aus performativer Recherche, körperlicher Reflexion und gemeinschaftlicher Bewegung. Silke Grabinger eröffnet den Monat im Rahmen des Theater der Dinge Festivals mit einer Arbeit zwischen Mensch, Tier und Kontrolle. Das b12 Festival zeigt in seiner Herbst-Edition ein kraftvolles Triple Bill internationaler Choreograf*innen. Zur Monatsmitte hinterfragt Mariana Romagnani in WORK Erinnerungen und alltägliche Lasten, bevor Anna Nowickamit Uvula einen poetischen Zukunftsblick teilt. Den Abschluss des Monats bildet die Premiere von An Other Kind of Life, ein tänzerisches Manifest für kollektives Handeln und Empfinden.
