I Look at the Birds
I always watched the birds,
the swoops and dives,
the way the wind carries them
and they twist and turn
at the flick of a feather.
Elegant,
seemingly effortless.
What anatomy evolved
to enable a creature
to soar the skies.
How magical.
And now—
every time I see birds,
flocks shifting,
moving as one
in the setting sky,
I think of the children of Palestine.
I think of their souls
emerging from broken bodies,
unfurling the most beautiful wings.
I think of them laughing
as they fly away from the fear,
from the pain,
and into Allah’s embrace.
I look at the birds.
I look at the birds
and I see the faces of the children.
And I weep.
And yet my heart still says Falestine will be free.

Allah does not burden any soul greater than it can bear. For it is what it has earned, and against it is what it has incurred. “Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord, do not place on us such a burden as You have placed on those before us.
Past one week has been nothing but heart wrenching. I genuinely can't express the pain I have felt watching clips and pictures of what these innocent lives have had to endure and are still enduring.
I can only pray and make special dua during tahajud times and donate but Allah is the Best of the Best of All Planners.
