@makerere University signed an MoU with the Embassy France in Uganda, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and Alliance Française de Kampala to host the 9th Kampala Geopolitics Conference (KGC). The conference, scheduled for 15–16 April 2026, will bring together experts, policymakers, scholars, and students to discuss the global and regional issues shaping our world. Since its launch in 2018, the Kampala Geopolitics Conference has become a vibrant platform for dialogue and exchange, connecting African voices with global perspectives. We look forward to welcoming participants to Makerere University for another exciting edition of this important conversation. #KGC2026 #MakererePartnerships #Geopolitics #GlobalDialogue #Partnerships AfricaConversations

Today marked another important step for the SAFE Clubs at Makerere University under the Emerging Leaders Program. Following last week’s mobilization meeting with SAFE Club leaders, students organized themselves into small peer groups of 5–8 members, creating the learning circles through which the iLEAD leadership program will be delivered. During today’s orientation, students were guided on how to access the iLEAD online platform and how the course is conducted within their groups. The session also introduced them to the structure of the program and the expectations for participation. The students then began their learning journey with Lesson 8: “Commitment” under the iChoose phase — a module focused on personal responsibility, character, and intentional leadership. SAFE Clubs will now meet every Tuesday for one-hour sessions, where students will engage with the course content together through guided discussions and reflection. Because the program is designed as a peer-based learning experience, the course is intentionally completed in groups, allowing students to grow together, hold one another accountable, and develop practical leadership values. Through SAFE Clubs and the iLEAD framework, the Emerging Leaders Program continues to build a community of students committed to character, discipline, and transformational leadership at Makerere University. #SAFEClubs #EmergingLeaders #iLEAD #MakerereUniversity #StudentLeadership

Some reunions are more than gatherings—they are journeys back in time. 🩺✨ The MakCHS dinner was a beautiful reminder of where it all began. Former classmates, colleagues, and friends came together once again, sharing laughter, memories from lecture halls and hospital wards, and stories from decades of service in medicine. These are the doctors who dedicated their lives to healing, teaching, mentoring, and shaping generations that followed. Seeing them together again was not just nostalgic—it was deeply inspiring. Once classmates. Always colleagues. Forever bound by the calling to heal. #Alumni #MedicalLegacy #OnceADoctorAlwaysADoctor #ReunionMoments MakCHSAt100Mak

Day Two of Graduation Week showcased the intellectual breadth that defines Makerere University. From the humanities to engineering, from health sciences to business, today’s graduands represent years of rigorous scholarship, discipline, and resilience. Graduation is a public validation of private sacrifice — late nights, research breakthroughs, fieldwork, and examinations that demanded more. To our alumni community: these graduates now join you — economists shaping policy, engineers building infrastructure, scholars influencing thought, entrepreneurs creating jobs. 📸 Today’s photo moments capture: • Academic regalia in full distinction • Faculty pride • The decisive handshake that marks transition Excellence is not episodic here — it is continuous.
