TED Chair, Beech wood (1960-65).
Assembled from the parts of a Danish daybed.
The seat panels can be removed and rearranged into other patterns within the frame.
By working intuitively and letting the daybed’s form dictate the final assembly of the chair, I have built something that presents itself more as a sculpture than as furniture. With its well-postured rigidity and regal backrest, the Ted Chair attempts to reference and redefine movements and makers from across time.
