This didn’t all happen in just two weeks—this is a rough glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to keep this beauty machine moving. From UNM Opera to Opera Southwest to New Mexico Young Actors… every show, every face, every moment matters.
The truth is—I could never do any of this alone. My team is the magic. They showed up, pushed through, adapted, cried with me, laughed with me, and absolutely delivered every single time.
It’s exhausting.
It’s overwhelming.
It’s beautiful.
And honestly… I wouldn’t trade the craziness for anything ❤️

Being part of the wigs & makeup team for Moses in Egypt is already such a wild and beautiful experience—but getting asked to jump in as part of stage crew for the actual parting of the Red Sea scene?! ICONIC. 🌊✨
Safe to say… we took our roles VERY seriously 😂 From backstage chaos to helping move the magic on stage and suddenly feeling like full-blown actresses in the moment, it honestly made us feel so special to be included in such a powerful part of the production.
There’s something magical about being part of the storytelling—not just behind the scenes with wigs, makeup, and quick changes—but physically helping create one of the most breathtaking moments of the show. A little wigs, a little makeup, a little stage crew… and apparently now, a little acting too 🎭💁🏽♀️
Huge shoutout to our incredible team for always showing up, bringing the magic, and making every moving piece come together. And an extra special shoutout to Gwen, our amazing Technical Director, for making it all happen alongside her incredible crew—truly the backbone of the magic on stage. ✨👏🏽

From running around the theatre like I’m in my own little Elsa coronation moment 👑❄️ to watching every piece of this incredible production come together… today is OPENING DAY for Mosè in Egitto (Moses in Egypt) with Opera Southwest!
This production is filled with breathtaking music, powerful storytelling, dramatic visuals, and larger-than-life moments that make opera so unforgettable. From the stunning costumes and scenic elements to the lighting, orchestra, and every detail backstage—it truly takes a village to bring this kind of magic to life. ✨🔥🌊
Seeing all the moving pieces finally lock into place is one of the most beautiful parts of this process. The cast, crew, orchestra, costumes, scenic, lighting, props, wigs & makeup—every single department has poured their hearts into this production, and it shows.
As Wigs & Makeup Designer, getting to help bring these characters to life has been such an incredible journey, and I’m so proud of this team. Long hours, big dreams, and a whole lot of magic behind the curtain 💛
