A letter to men.
S.A.F.E. — Secured. Accepted. Fortified. Encouraged.
I would like to apologize to every woman who hasn’t felt SAFE.
There is a crisis in our world concerning women—physical assaults, misuse, mishandling, and voices being silenced. As a man, this deeply concerns me.
The number one need for a woman is security.
When I was younger, my father was abusive toward my mother and often intoxicated. His drinking was not an excuse—it was a decision. I didn’t always witness the abuse directly, but I remember seeing my mother with a bleeding lip at six years old. That image never left me. Ten years later, I saw my mother again. She told me she prayed and asked God for help, and He said, “There are fifty states—pick one.” She chose California and left.
That decision changed everything.
By the grace of God, I made a decision of my own: to break that cycle. I chose not to drink. I chose not to be abusive. I chose to be a different kind of man for my wife, @makebaburford . She is not that kind of woman, and I am not that kind of man.
I believe my father carried regret. Even while he struggled, he would tell us not to drink. That was his way of acknowledging the damage and warning us not to repeat it.
My prayer is for both the abused and the abuser—that healing would come from the inside out.
The reality is sobering:
• 85% of domestic violence victims are women
• Around 75% of domestic violence fatalities are women
• Nearly 40 million women have experienced physical aggression
• Over 47% of women have faced violence or stalking by an intimate partner
• More than 16 million people in the U.S. experience intimate partner abuse each year
Forgive us for the times we failed to stand up and protect you.
You are a daughter of God—accepted, covered, and cared for by Him.
We must do better. We will do better.

The 8th Women's Convocation hosted by Yvette Crusoe and S.O.Y.L. has been recorded in the books. Women were presented the opportunity to Turn Your Tears Into Testimony and to be Restored.
Walk In Truth Ministries was instrumental in helping this event come to life and hosted oh so well. Women were ministered to, activated, healed, equipped and so much more. A heartfelt thanks to speakers, Davine, Krystle and Prophetess Makeba. Anna Maria ushered us into God's presence and released heaven in the room, and Heaven In Motion's ministry of Manifestation by Enrique Holmes stirred something within anyone who 'heard'. Grateful for all who poured, prayed and participated. It's only up from here; let's gooooo UP!
