Mark your calendars for May's Fill A Bag event! We're hosting it on a MONDAY this month because it's on MEMORIAL DAY!!!
📍 Join us in our basement for our secondhand art supply Fill-a-Bag event Monday May 25th from 11am-4pm (10am if you're a patreon member!)
$11 for your first bag + $5 for each additional bag, all taxes included.
We’ll have bins to rummage through of seconds, scraps, and overstock. Dare we say... open your mind and lower your expectations. You never know what you’ll find, these items are not available in our retail shop.
These events are great for folks looking to snag some supplies for a new hobby, artists who love a little treasure hunt and folks who have expansive ideas for odds and end.

We know that sometimes it feels like the only place to buy yards of fabric for your projects is the big box stores. Well that's not true! Every week we update our shop with fabric listings that are perfect for your stash!
These listings can admittedly go fast, and it seems like by Saturday the best patterns have been scooped up by the artists who keep a keen eye on the updates. To get ahead of the curve you can always join our email list and turn your post notifications on for our account! We update the shop every Friday at 7pm ET so you can just set a good old fashioned weekly alarm too :)

Mother’s Day has been a tradition of honoring and recognizing Mothers since it was first celebrated in 1908. Most people don’t know this but it was founded by a daughter who was grieving her Mom. I relate more to this holiday now having known this fact as a grieving daughter. It no longer feels like a day to dread but a day to honor and celebrate the Mom who made Make & Mend happen in the first place.
My mom, Maryann, a Mom to two kids but a Mother to artists all across Boston, passed away in September of 2023. Two and a half after her death, it feels like she only left us a few weeks ago. She was brave, sacrificing and most of all, kind.
While we honor all Mothers today, our shop is holding space for those grieving, longing, and trying to make this day pass as quickly as possible. Today, we’re donating 5% of our online and in person sales to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
P.S. We have postcards with a photo of Maryann at our checkout. Whether you knew her or not, I encourage you to grab one for your junk journal, to watch over your craft supplies or just to have!
