Here’s every step:
→ We hunt for the right denim. The weight, the wash, the label.
→ Each crochet band is sized specifically for that jacket.
→ Colours are chosen to work with the denim — never against it.
→ The jacket comes apart completely.
→ The bands are hand-pinned, then hand-sewn in.
→ Rebuilt. Then embroidered by hand, every stitch.
No two pieces follow the same path. That’s the point.

Part 1 of 2.
She doesn't sell to shops. She barely sells at all. We drove 3.5 hours into the mountains to find her.
This is what we found: an antique Hmong skirt. Black Hmong, Northern Thailand, likely 1950s–1970s. Geometric hand-embroidery sewn at harvest — the kind of craft that takes years to learn and is slowly disappearing.
We rebuilt it onto denim. Then embroidered our own detail: grains of rice, stitch by stitch. A tribute to the harvest these patterns were made for.

Somewhere on the back of this jacket, hidden among the white, is a single red dragonfly.
That's ours. Every Maison SiLab piece carries one detail that breaks the rule — a colour that shouldn't be there, one stitch that goes a different way, one button that doesn't match.
This one took our team six days to embroider. Dragonflies, wheat, beetles scattered across blue denim — each one placed by hand, none in exactly the same spot twice.
