Not everyday your friend comes back home a 3x Guinness World Record holder. 🌍🌳 @truphena_muthoni
Welcome home Treephena. From East Africa to the Amazon, you continue to prove that purpose has no borders. Hugging 1234 trees in one hour in Brazil is bigger than a record, it’s a statement. A reminder that indigenous & African voices matter, that our land matters, and that young Africans are capable of creating real change, and leading global conversations with courage and action. These are the true steps to bring Africa forward, by Africans, for Africans and our land‼️
You are becoming a voice for indigenous communities & ecosystems globally and making indigenous and African women across the world feel seen, represented and proud.

We used to live moments without thinking to keep them. Just presence, just feeling.
Now life gives them back to us in form — a photo, a frame, a piece of art that holds what memory sometimes forgets.
This is one of those pieces. A quiet return to good times, and a constant reminder: we were there, fully immersed in so much love 🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿
Shoutout to our friends @art.galore.ke_backup for keeping memories alive with what you do🫡

A glimpse into what washday has looked like over the past 3 months with @raynat_organics 💚 I particularly LOVE their shampoo 😍 it’s so cleansing yet extremely hydrating plus it has ACV so if your man has locs like mine does, ACV is extremely good to cleanse the locs..this will become a new fave washday activity yall can do together😉
Part 2 to see how I achieve the juiciest curls?🫣👀

Dinner time!!🔔🍲 I grew up on this dish on the Azores Islands in Portugal every single summer! Chicken Stroganoff is the taste of nostalgia for me, and now I get to share this delicious comfort meal with my love @nviirithestoryteller 🥹🤍 this time with UM PEDAÇINHO DE BRAZIL🇧🇷 with the batata palha twist!
Have you had this version of chicken stroganoff before?.

There’s something poetic about coming full circle ✨ As a child, I stood as a climate justice ambassador with Plant-for-the-Planet @plantfortheplanet_official small hands, big dreams, speaking about trees like they were sacred (because they are). I didn’t know then that those seeds were being planted in me too.
For my birthday this year, we planted 100 indigenous trees.
It felt like coming home to a promise I made as a child.
Honoring the land that has always held us.
Honoring the wisdom of indigenous trees — the ones that belong here, that remember this soil, that call the birds home and restore what we’ve taken.
And maybe most special of all, I was surrounded by the women of my lineage — the matriarchs, the quiet strength, the living memory. To plant beside them felt like ceremony. Like stitching generations together through roots. 🌳
We return what we take.
We protect what protects us.
We become what we practice.

There’s something about a space that grows with you.
Hanging our photos, adding pieces that tell our story, and watching it all come together✨
Thank you, @art.galore.ke_backup for being such a beautiful part of our home — your work has found its place in our story.

This birthday, I returned to the soil.
100 indigenous trees on protected land, surrounded by the women who carry my history and the women who carry the earth.
The Kikuyu aunties who have preserved this space.
My mother, whose birthday I almost share.
The matriarchs in my bloodline.
My dear friend Truphena Muthoni, @truphena_muthoni who once held a tree long enough to break a world record.
We buried a time capsule with the last tree.
In 10 years, we’ll come back.
May the land remember us kindly.
A promise to the land — and to the Indigenous communities who have protected it long before us — that we see you, we honor you, and we remain committed to ancestral African land stewardship.
This is only the beginning. 🌳
