My newest short story is available on my website!!! Along with new horrors I’ve drawn!!! (link in bio)!!!
Wanted to tell a story inspired by my experience in my 8th grade musical. This more or less — metaphorically — happened to me.
When I was thirteen years old I had a six pack because I was skinny and it was the worst thing that ever happened to me. (Well, one of them I guess).
I’m interested in how men’s bodies can be perceived and objectified and commodified in society in the same (but different) way women’s bodies are. We are all being commodified via our physical appearances. We can all relate to not feeling good looking or feeling hot as hell. When you’re young and feeling these things for the first time they can be… extreme. Conflict inducing.
I said in my last post, something very wrong is going on when men in our society and I’m trying to shed any light I can on how we got here from all sorts of perspectives.
This was a project that started as straight up autobiography that I shaped over the last two months into… this??? Anyway, I’ve enjoyed the process and I’m excited to continue experimenting.
Please enjoy.

There’s a looming recession, a new Nintendo console is coming out, I’ve been really into games of luck, which reminds me the last time there was a looming recession, a new Nintendo console, and I was really getting into games of luck.
In the last six months I’ve worked on dozens and dozens of small writing projects and performances. Art is for us to find meaning with one another and to connect. All of these projects have helped solidify that in my mind. I think the majority of my 20s has been defined by a cynical creative cycle. Cynical in the stories and themes and cynical in the process itself. Eight months until I turn 30 and I feel this gravitational shift within me out of fear, but we are all afraid. Fear is the defining and universal emotion for humans. And connecting with each other is an act against fear. To be seen by another is terrifying, yet liberating. To make art, of any kind, is an act against fear. We all are afraid and we all desire to connect. How we manage that balance reveals who we are.
I wrote this story to continue mining our desire for connection and what happens when our desire is less so than our fear.
Thank you, please enjoy. The link is in my bio.
I also want to recommend Amy Bloom’s collection of stories titled “Come to Me” that was recommended to me by my friend Harry. Aspirational, beautiful, funny work.
