We’re back with Bistro Nights at Studio Saba, and this one’s close to the heart.
For this weekend’s Injera Edition, we’re turning our table toward the flavors and traditions of East African cooking. This is our love letter (and our answer) to the question: where do you find truly good Ethiopian food in LA?
As always, Bistro Night is about collaboration, curiosity, and cooking what excites us right now with people who inspire us.
Our friend @mahiishaaa will be curating a mix of East African music to soundtrack the night and cohosting the evening along side @deyjbean
Join us this Saturday & Sunday, with two seatings each night at 5pm and 8pm.

Archive of my show “Saint Yared Special” on @worldwide.fm featuring modern instrumental music from Eritrea & Ethiopia is now up!
It was such a pleasure to guide listeners through a lush soundscape of sultry ambassel, spiritual mensfesawi jazz, and tizita bati-infused instrumentals.
Drawing inspiration from recent @muzikawi reissues of Jorga Mesfin and Ibex Band, as well as the newly reissued recordings of Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru via @mississippirecords , this mix pays homage to the meditative soul of the Horn of Africa.
Expect lesser known deep cuts from the '90s and 2000s by Admas Band, Tigist Egiju, Theodros Mitiku, Ermias, and more—woven with contemporary jazz arrangements from artists like Hermon Mehari @kctrumpeter and @kibrom.birhane 📡 (🔗 in bio)
Sunday May 4th, we’re back for Ethiopian Jazz with @mendirquartet & Coffee Ceremony with @mahiishaaa at our private tea lounge in Los Angeles!
Rooted in the timeless grooves of the genre and infused with the spirit of improvisation, the Mendir Quartet is was brought together by Yared, Randal, Joose, and Nadav through their shared love of music that transcends boundaries.
Up in the loft, our friend Maha will be serving guests in traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. As we gather in the spirit of connection and community, Maha will guide us through this ritual that has long accompanied storytelling, music, and togetherness in Ethiopian homes.
Reserve your spot on our site.
