The Z3 Class Tram has arrived at Maher’s Models.
This 1:87 scale HO gauge model is a must-have for enthusiasts and collectors alike, offering an authentic, filament 3D printed, replica of the iconic Z3 Class Tram with decals included to produce a model in the current Yarra Trams/PTV livery.
This kit is an unassembled piece that promises a fulfilling project for hobbyists keen on building and detailing their own miniature tram. The kit contains:
• A one-piece Z3 body
• Two chassis – one designed for a powered build (to suit a Steam Era Models Black Beetle) and one for a static model
• Two bogie cases
- Two static bogies
- two roof top air conditioners
• Decals in the current Yarra Trams / PTV livery

Maher’s Models are delighted to announce our next project. The Melbourne Z3 class tram HO (1/87) scale.
The body design is complete and we are currently finalising designs of the chassis and bogies. Two chassis will be available. One for a static version and powered model (suitable for a Steam Era Models Black Beetle).
We expect the model to be available in kit form in the next few weeks.

Early progress on E class 6036 in the wrap advertising M&M’s and the Australian Tennis Open.
These decals will soon be an option with our E Class kits.
Our Comeng modified fronts in both Alstom and EDI versions are now available in the following liveries:
M-Train (EDI)
Connex (Alstom)
Metro (Alstom and EDI).
These are compatible with HO scale Comeng sets from Paul’s 3D prints.

In keeping with our theme of iconic Melbourne landmarks, our next item for release will be the Douglas HIFI building complete with the tape recorder reels. It was located in Bourke Street between Swanston and Russel Streets until the mid 90’s.
The model will be in 1:87 scale and is expected to be released in the couple of weeks.
Maher’s Models will be a proud exhibitor at this year’s Easter Model Train Show at Diamond Creek - Saturday and Sunday.
Along with showcasing our Melbourne Tram streetscape, a number of HO scale 3D kits will be available for purchase. These include:

Every now and then we get the odd failure when printing W Classes in resin. But thanks to the artwork on the corner of Spencer and Flinders Streets, we can now give the failed prints a new life.
