They say healing comes in many forms, and this weekend at the CK Expo, it came in the form of a red rose and a childhood dream realized. ✨
Growing up, Sailor Moon was everything to me! Fighting evil by moonlight and winning love by daylight! I wasn’t originally planning on dressing up, but when I heard the legendary voices of the scouts were coming to the John D. Bradley Centre, I knew I had to join the cosplay. My daughter and I spent both days dressed as different versions of Serena; sharing that bond and seeing her step into that world with me was a gift in itself.
Meeting Linda Ballantyne and Toby Proctor was absolutely surreal. Let’s be real...what 6-year-old didn't have a massive crush on Tuxedo Mask? Getting a rose from Toby himself was a total 'pinch-me' moment, and I’ll admit, I was completely smitten! 🌹
We even discovered we share the same love language: food! Turns out Toby is just as much of a foodie as I am, and we bonded over our love for cooking and feeding people. 🥘
Beyond the nostalgia, it was an incredible event filled with amazing vendors and wonderful folks. A huge thank you to the organizers for a weekend that officially had my inner child soaring. My heart is full, my autograph is framed, and I’m still smiling! 🌙💖

Happy new year from our family to yours!
We follow the Gregorian Calendar, making this the #SolarNewYear. This happens around April 13th lasting about 3-5 days (depending on the country). Celebrated in South & SEA by the following countries
Thailand 🇹🇭
Laos 🇱🇦
Cambodia 🇰🇭
Myanmar 🇲🇲
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Parts of:
India 🇮🇳
Nepal 🇳🇵
Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Commonly called Songkran, Solar New Year is when the sun enters the constellation of Aries.
Day 1: Day of renewal/cleansing - the last day
Is technically the last day of the last year. It's symbolized by cleaning homes & villages, prepare the water and flowers for the celebrations on the following days, wash Buddha statues, images, & paint temples. Coming together following these events with family & honoring our ancestors.
Day 2: The unknown, Celebratory day
This day is not calculated on the calender. It is dedicated to water festivals. Streets are closed, parades take place, soaking one another to cleanse bad luck, negativity & sin for a fresh new year. This is also a time of NO SLEEP & ALL fun!
Fun fact: as you cannot be in 2 different years at once, this is a day that is not last year but also not next year.
Day 3: The first day!
Honoring your gift! Protecting Your Gift, Good Spirit & energy within you. You will typically see buddha bracelets (during new year it's a white string) should be around your body which is a symbolism of protecting your gift so it doesn't escape you. You would visit the temples, give your offerings while taking part in meditation with the monks and receive blessings and ask for forgiveness of your sins (similar to confession but not). Also giving blessings to your loved ones.
In all this, we come together to share our blessings, share the light, sing, dance and most importantly come together with a huge shared meal!
This is your reminder to do some deep cleaning, cleansing and manifesting the future!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Captured the capturer 💫
There is something truly special about seeing your passion through someone else's lens. We recently had the pleasure of hosting Dudek Photography in collaboration with South Western Ontario Travel and Tourism (SWOTTO), and the experience was nothing short of magic.
A massive thank you to Damien and Dwight...you both were absolutely amazing to work with. You didn't just take photos; you captured the energy, the intention, and the heart of everything we do here in Dresden. It’s not always easy to feel comfortable in front of a camera, but your professionalism and vibe made it feel like a breeze. So grateful to be part of the vibrant story of South Western Ontario!
