There is the PRS22 match on the Sunday as well!
Round two of the NZPRS Rimfire North Island series is in the books. Thanks to all who braved the elements and competed and the volunteers who made the match happen despite the cyclone inbound.
The COF was tuned to accomodate forecast heavy rain and high winds. In the end it rained most of the day, but not too heavy, and the wind was not significant. This made for a high scoring but tight match. Well done Ezra on winning both matches on the weekend!
Round 2 will be happening on Sunday - a “bit” of rain and wind forecast. So COF changes to help with conditions.
See you around 7.30 sign in and zero check and aim for 8am start.
Round 1 Completed – A great start to the 2026 PRS NZ Rimfire North Island season at Waikaretu.
A big thank you to all the shooters who took part, the volunteers, Geoff & Kassie Phillips for their hospitality. Graeme and Simon from the SPARC series for sharing gear for the match.
Sam at Zero Targets for the rimfire target set and hangers.
Shane and Teresa – for the use of their beautiful property.
Impact Scoring was an excellent addition for running the match admin and keeping track of progress and live results. Lastly, well done to the winners:
1st Overall - Josh Maynard
2nd Overall – Ezra Berridge
3rd Overall – Graeme Bishop
Fun fact Josh Martin won the UK rimfire opening round on the same weekend … coincidence … I think not!
Thanks to @gunracknz for putting on a great match. The 2026 SPARC Telson Optics Steel Storm match was held on a fine and sunny Saturday at Waikaretu.
After my “elite” trigger on my 10/22 gave me a pretty rough start to the day.
I swapped out to the original trigger checked zero and got back in the game. I managed to end up 8th in open with some improved stages. The new MDT ACC premier Gen 2 10/22 chassis has been an excellent upgrade and well worth it. Thanks to @impactsports_nz for the MDT chassis, and a big thanks to them for sponsoring the match.
