Let this be a reminder there is more to life than control and concrete.
For years, suppression against music-driven people has silenced speakers around the world. Control from governing authorities leaves communities powerless; we have no say and are forced to comply. Free parties remain one of the last places where people can truly express themselves and exist as they choose.
We investigated this issue through primary research within tree party communities. By engaging directly with partygoers and interviewing organisers who create autonomous spaces, we explored shared values, behaviours, and motivations. Experiencing
these environments firsthand revealed a strong sense of unity and resistance, shaping our understanding of what a true communal utopia could look like.
UNITY is a shared living commune within UK national forest areas where you, you the people have the power.
Free from policing, hierarchy, and judgement, it is built and governed collectively through music, shared resources, and mutual care, reclaiming autonomy, connection, and freedom from imposed control.
