Digital artifacts: sometimes when we 3D scan a building we can't help but capture ourselves in the scan. Alex recently experienced this scanning a rooftop at the University of New Orleans. The result however looks like a rooftop party of Alex clones. 🤣🤣🤣
A couple of weeks ago our team had the pleasure of joining AOS in visiting the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi to view the exhibit on Frank Gehry and Robert Tannen: Art, Architecture, and Ideas. We were absolutely inspired by the glimpse into the process of both artists along with the works of George Ohr, not to mention the Gehry-designed museum itself! @thinkaos
We love historic structures because they give us fascinating surprises! Check out this "beam" we found under the floor of an Uptown renovation we discovered! Its been supporting this historic home for 160 years and looks as fresh as the day it was set!!
We are excited to announced we've relocated to the heart of the Lower Garden District. Beginning this month, our New Orleans office is now located at 1100 Saint Andrew Street, just off of Magazine. Stay tuned for photos of the new digs!
Throwback to our Cannabis Research Opportunity Program (CROP) Competition Entry! This proposed development, which received Honorable Mention from the International Cannibis Bank in 2016, was pitched back before @louisiana_gov signed a bill to legalize the sale of smokable medical marijuana in 2021, prompting @lsuagcenter new medical pot program facility next year. It's great to see some of these ideas come to life 💡 🌱
Introducing Alex Ratliff, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, our newest Project Manager at Made Design! Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Alex brings nearly a decade of institutional design experience, including University and Healthcare design, and enjoys designing projects from the scale of urban and campus design all the way down to the scale of individual details. Our team keeps growing! Meet Daniel Ruff, Associate Architect and recent graduate from Mississippi State University. While enrolled at MSU, Daniel worked for several architecture firms, exposing him to the increasingly common design-build process. In his spare time, Daniel can be found sketching, tending to his garden in Mid-City or building custom furniture and planters 🛠️🌱
We love coming across these unexpected gems in the point cloud! During our 3D scanning process, the goal is to capture every visible detail of the building to get an accurate digital model. Over at Moto Julia, high-quality scan output tells the true story of these impressive motorcycles! 🏍
With Halloween just around the corner, we wanted to share our picks for the spookiest building and landmarks 👻 🏛️ This series was inspired by @thebimsmith , a group we've been loving over the past year for their great content and Continuing Education offerings via the BIMsmith Coffee Club. Check them out and of course, have a happy halloween 🎃
