Not gonna lie, I was pretty devastated when I got out in the “real world” as a PT Not only are there SO many barriers in the traditional model to providing patient’s with the care they deserve… I actually felt like the traditional treatment philosophy was making people worse: afraid of movement, nervous about their bodies, and worried about their long term health. So when I finally found made2move, I did what anyone would do: I stalked them until they hired me (yes, I was literally a groupie) And the rest… is history 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m blown away every single week by the lives we’ve impacted and the things people say about working with us: “This has been the best investment I’ve ever made in myself” “I thought I’d never run or lift weights again. This is the ONLY thing that’s worked for me.” “I had seen at least 10 PT’s previously. I wish I would have come to made2move sooner.” “I thought I was going to have to stop, but now I feel stronger than ever. I can’t imagine where I’d be without made2move” THAT is why we do what we do. We’re on a mission to give people movement freedom: to help you get OUT of pain so you can stay active & healthy for LIFE. And if you feel stuck in pain or held back by injuries, We can help. Book a free consult and let’s get you back to living the active life you love 🚀

What all of these stories have in common ⬇️ All of these people came to us feeling frustrated by pain or sick of injuries holding them back. They cared about their health and wellness, but these injuries were keeping them from fully enjoying their active lifestyles. Some of them had even tried things like shots, surgery, or traditional physical therapy, but they were still experiencing pain and limitations, and they didn’t know what to do next. ‼️ A lot of them were skeptical that we could help, but they were ready to work hard and were longing to do what they loved again - without pain. 1️⃣ They scheduled a free consult. 2️⃣ We met with them for a thorough, 90 minute comprehensive evaluation. 3️⃣ We gave them a personalized PLAN based on their weaknesses, goals, needs, and overall health. 4️⃣ We worked with them 1-1 to guide them throughout the entire process - from pain to performance. 5️⃣ Now, they’ve taken that pain and frustration and turned it into an opportunity to become healthier, stronger, fitter, and more capable. If you do it right, physical therapy should help you live a better, healthier, more fulfilling life. ✅ If pain is keeping you from doing the things you want to do, schedule your free phone consult so you can get back to your active lifestyle!

A full circle moment 🥹 A HUGE shout out to these two BADDIESSS who crushed HYROX Miami last month When we first met Shannon and Tam, they were both dealing with pain and past injuries that had been keeping them from training the way they wanted to for years. They’ve both worked so hard to get where they are today. They never gave up and now they get to workout, train, and move with freedom. They are two of strongest and most resilient women we know. Shannon and Tam (Shamara) we are SO proud of you 🫶🏼 (We do think you look a little tooooo happy in these pics though) When’s the next race?? 👀

As always, it depends — and that’s why we shouldn’t make decisions solely based on your what your MRI says. imaging means nothing without context. imaging findings may sometimes be helpful, (key word: sometimes) A lot of people want to see “what’s really going on underneath” but while most findings don’t have a high correlation with your pain, they might make you more fearful, or even lead you down an unnecessary, risky path At best, this delays your progress. At worst… this can cause more pain AND worse outcomes. Moral of the story: You don’t need imaging to start physical therapy. Conservative care (physical therapy) is the recommended first line of treatment. If you already have imaging, we’ll help you make sense of it. If you have questions about imaging, we’ll answer them. And if we think you need imaging, we will tell you. A huge part of our initial phone consult & evaluation process is to make sure we’re the right fit to help you, so that you get the care and treatment YOU need to get out of pain and stay active & healthy for life.

It’s frustrating to go to physical therapy, to follow a plan for weeks or months, and to still feel stuck in pain But the problem isn’t you or your shoulder. It’s the plan you were given (or the lack thereof) If you’re not making any progress, your rehab plan is probably 1️⃣ Too easy: you need to increase the weight, reps, range of motion, or how often you’re doing the exercises 2️⃣ Too much for you right now: modify the exercises (weight reps sets etc) so that your pain stays BELOW a 3/10 during the movement AND after the movement 3️⃣ Not specific enough for you: doing a bunch of random shoulder exercises is like playing tennis when you’re trying to get better at running. Sure, you’re “exercising...” but you’re not working on the actual things that will make you better. Make sure the exercises you’re doing actually solve a problem for you — they should address a specific weakness/deficit that you have 4️⃣ OR you stopped doing the work as soon as the pain went away. Getting out of pain is STEP ONE. Building the tissues back up and returning gradually to your actual goals is what keeps pain from coming back.

Eva has a long history of knee surgeries, starting with an ACL reconstruction in high school, another ACL repair a few years ago, and a meniscectomy about a year ago When Eva came in for the first time a few months ago, she was constantly struggling with pain, which was a big problem as a personal trainer and someone who loves to be active She’s worked hard these last few months and now she’s lifting weights, running (+ the bridge run!), taking group classes, and training her clients at @coastalathleticclub without pain EVA we’re so pumped for you, proud of all your hard work, and grateful we get to help you get out of pain and get back to doing what you love

Our spines were designed to move in MANY different directions So why are you only ever moving it in one? Save this for your next back day ‼️ ✅ Cable rotations ✅ Jefferson curls ✅ Romanian deadlifts ✅ Back extensions Rotation. Flexion. Hinging. Extension. (Also sidebending not mentioned here but VERY important) Most people have been told to keep a flat back, never round, never twist — and then they wonder why their backs are constantly tight, weak, or hurting. Your back doesn’t need more rest or avoidance. It isn’t fragile. It needs to be more PREPARED. Choose one, start small, and build from there. Want our full guide to back pain AND the movements you should be doing if you want a strong, painfree back? ⬇️ Comment GUIDE ‼️

To Rach: When you walked in to shadow me at Made 2 Move in 2020, I knew you were one-of-a-kind, but I had no idea that our paths would cross again: I had no idea that you’d email Elliot a few months later, interested in working for PRIME, and then in October of 2021, you’d become the first team member of the new Made 2 Move. I had no idea that the girl I met in 2020, with her huge smile and her crossbody bag (a trendsetter!), would help shape Made 2 Move into what it is now. Over the last 5 years, it’s been amazing to see you grow, learn, and develop into the clinician and person you are today. From spending hours sitting on the floor, talking about the PTs we wanted to be Practicing what to write on the whiteboard and what to say to patients Teaching you barbell lifts and watching you crush your first CrossFit competition AND win a deadlift comp Being so impressed by your discipline and consistency in both your professional and personal life To seeing you dedicate so much of your time to giving your patients an amazing experience What an absolute honor it is that we got to be a part of your journey. Rach, you are an incredible human. You have had a profound impact on our lives — and so many more — and I know that every person who knows you feels the same way. You have been a living example of practicing what you preach, giving people movement freedom, and helping people feel strong, resilient, and adaptable. You, Rach, have already changed healthcare, and we know you will continue to do so. Thank you for everything you’ve poured into Made 2 Move, our team, our patients, and our community. None of us would be who we are without you, Rach. Thank you for changing lives with us the last 5 years. We are so happy to see you with someone that makes you so happy and we’re so excited for your next adventure together. Wherever it may take you, we know you’re going to continue to have an amazing impact. But first 🇫🇷🥖💍👰🏽‍♀️🍾🥂💕 YOUR WEDDING !!! You are going to be such a beautiful bride. You deserve so much love and joy and we can’t wait to see allllll the photos 🫶🏼 Once a worm, always a worm.

Getting out of pain is just the first step. I’ve seen so many people who have been to physical therapy for their shoulder pain and it didn’t work Because their shoulder never got challenged enough to actually adapt and get stronger You can’t stay in band land forever. It’s okay to start with easier, more gentle movements if you’re experiencing a lot of pain, weakness, or stiffness. But we can’t stay there forever. And if you quit too early, you won’t solve the problem. ‼️ Comment SHOULDER ⬇️ for exercises, an example rehab plan, and answers to your burning rotator cuff questions

What we wish EVERY runner knew about hip pain 🤔 There’s a lot of different structures in our hips that work hard with every single step when we run: ✔️ Drive forward with every stride ✔️ Absorb force on landing ✔️ Stay stable on one leg - 1000s of reps per run ✔️ Control rotation through the whole gait cycle We want to focus on actually loading and strengthening our hips in the ways that running stresses them AND Having a smart progressive program — load management is HUGE here The goal isn’t just to reduce pain. It’s to build a hip that’s actually prepared for your mileage.
