It is with such a heavy heart that I let you know we had to say goodbye to Xavier. The significance of his presence in mine, and others, lives is hard to explain. He was first and foremost a teacher, stoic, and incredibly brave. He never took a wrong step and would protect you at all costs. He was also oddly picky, quietly mischievous and a bit of an asshole - never letting you forget he was there. There was also something indescribably special about him. He was calm and slow when I needed to cry and quick and perky when I wanted an adventure. He was that true unicorn of a horse - people say they don’t exist, but I know for a fact that they do.
Caring for him has been one of my greatest joys. His absence will be felt so deeply. Thank you to everyone who loved him as much as I did, especially Jason and Eric who let me buy him - I am eternally grateful.
I love you Xavier - thank you for being everything I needed and so much more.
