Not previously posted moments.
1. Tropical islands at night are Maddy Daisy’s delight
2. When people ask what skincare I use… actual honey. And a moisturizer. Not much else.
3. Sorry but not matter how many times I’m on a plane it still blows my mind that we are sitting in a bunch of metal in the shape of a fake bird flying through the sky watching movies only separated from death by a translucent couple of pieces of plastic.
4. The best natural sunscreen. I’ve tried and disliked many.
5. Just so everyone is aware - they are using pasta as straws northside in Melbourne now.
6. Can someone tell me how to actually get the honey out quicker? Drip method is both ineffective and slow AF.
7. The most simple things put a smile of my face. Until they start dropping stuff everywhere.
8. Not pictured: kinder surprise, cream, bread, many blocks of chocolate and red wine.
9. Light was lit this day.
10. Another thing that makes me happy. This one fury and with four legs.
Hello 👋🏼
A quick word as I wait for my Uber to let you know that despite the fact I have hardly posted on Instagram, I am, in fact, still alive.
I have thoroughly enjoyed limiting my time on socials, and it's given me lots of extra brain space for learning and creating. I've always kept things relatively private here, which will likely not change. However, I still feel myself wanting to share and, perhaps more so, to write. Not so much of the big moments in life that we see so often on this platform, but also the little ones. Those little meandering thoughts and feelings I find myself with as I observe the light falling through the trees onto my bedroom wall.
Of course I am still "The Botanical Beauty Hunter" author. Nature, natural beauty, and wellness are still passions of mine. I look forward to authentically sharing more of that here too. For now, enjoy this next video I took on a recent trip to Fiji of some ants who commandeered a tiny flower to cross from one end of the rockpool to the other.
Sometimes it’s the little subtleties in nature.
Unedited images from a few weeks ago.
I had an emotional night before this shoot and at one point we had to pause to I could cry in between shots.
A picture can tell a thousand words - but it can hide a whole lot more.
I’ve always struggled to find a natural makeup brand that I really loved. Sometimes the products were rubbish—it was the formulation’s fault. Sometimes the packaging felt cheap and nasty. Sometimes the products didn’t blend, didn’t show on the skin, or didn’t stay on the skin long enough for me to walk out the door. You know you’re in for a treat when you first hold an @ogee product in your hands. The packaging and formulations have been tried and tested and have my tick of approval. I promise! Clean makeup does not have to mean sacrificing quality. You can use the code maddydixon15 for discount 🤍

Of note:
- More yoga, less intense exercise in 2024 (admittedly I was already doing hardly any)
- Breakfast.
- teheheh
- Family dinners and delicious bread.
- Red light therapy.
- Freckle season.
Little (comfortable) Luxuries: A silk set that feels like a second skin. This one by @sunsetlover_rise
One of my new favorite sustainably minded, zero plastic Australian brands.
1. In my element with @isabelsasse
2. So many “pieces to camera” that will likely not be heard for some time. If you watch closely you can see when I fumble at the very end on the 136th take.
3. Revisiting a page from my book. Herby-flowery-steamy face treatment. A way to use old herbs that you have in the fridge when they turn all sad, floppy and unappealing.
4. There is something about this that makes me want to run away from myself. I really can’t stand the sight of the cucumber. The lovely masseuse spent about 10 minutes trying to get a good angle here (there wasn’t one) and even climbed onto the bed and stood over me to get an overhead shot.
5. Does anyone else find all their recipes from TikTok now? The fun thing is, the recipe is only provided about 20% of the time, meaning you have to rewatch the seconds long video over and over again to estimate if they are adding around 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon.
6. It turns out I do read recipe books still - but only in an inflated sauna apparently. This was for a kitchari dish. Delish.
7. Talented friends who give sunshine in liquid form.
8. Things that make me feel present.
9. After my face was mauled my a mosquito two nights ago - this Manuka honey mask was very gratefully received.
10. Some side eye to finish.
