hosted a little preview shopping event with @cececonner this week for some of our favorite people — an early look at something we’ve been quietly working on. think custom, think embellished, think one of one. dropping later this month. 🤍👖
Year 2 in the books!!! Mega thanks to all our customers and friends of the brand, I couldn’t do this without you. Can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store 🚀
Happy 2nd Birthday @nelleatelier 👖
Building this business has shown me (on a daily basis) that two things can be true. This is both the best and hardest thing I’ve ever done. Nothing has ever humbled me more and made me so proud. I’ve never had more fun and been more frustrated.
Two years and two truths. To many more 🌟
The idea for Nelle Atelier, a promising new petite fashion label, stemmed from a dilemma that will sound familiar to anyone who’s short and likes clothes.
“I was looking at my 30 pairs of jeans — I’m five-one on a good day — and I was like, I hate all of these pants,” founder Madeleine Cohen (@madcoxo ) recalls. “I Googled ‘best jeans for short girls’ and there were options in the mass market, but there was nothing that was aspirational from a brand perspective, premium and high quality from a materials perspective. And so I just got to work.”
Nelle Atelier launched in November 2023, with a small assortment of premium denim for women under 5’4” — which is about half of all women, by the way — sold direct-to-consumer online. Already, it boasts a repeat customer rate of 40%.
At the link in bio, Cohen talks building a devout customer base in less than year, the impacts of influencer gifting, expanding the petite category and more.
